5:2 Diet (part II)

  • I'm back on the 5:2 diet, first fast day for a while. I went through a bit of a phase of 'trying' for fast day, but then getting in from work and stuffing my face :o. So, I had a break for a while, and now I am ready to start again properly.

I was staving this morning, but then not really hugry from about 10am onwards. I feel a lot more positive as we are now headed for spring. I really struggle in the autumn and winter. I am going to reward myself with some new clothes for the summer once I have done a few more fast days.

My BMI says that I'm not overweight, but I would like to loose 7 -10lb or so, hopefully from around the tummy area, and generally just look a feel a lot better.

Good luck to all those fasting!

    Hi all!

I'd like to join in as I spent a while reading up on this 5:2 both on here and the website over the weekend.

I decided to start and think Monday and Thurs would be good. Did Monday on veggie nibbles and for evening a lamb and veg stew I knew the cals for. Came in at 505 cals :)

This morning - fast day 2, I prepared my veg nibbles last night and thought I'd put them in my bag for work. No. I hadn't.

So today - only a lonely satsuma in my work bag - didn't eat it and went all day without. Well nearly :) I have a pot of Marigold Bouillon in my cupboard at work so had one early and one for lunch - 12 cals each and very tasty :)

This evening I have a massive amount of veg to be steamed and 200g of white fish. Now I can add cream cheese as a sauce and have a whole bunch of cals in one go - still saving 100ml full fat goats milk for just before bed. :) 498 total :)

I'm not sure what I'll do on Monday again but I found today really quite surprisingly easy.

Anyway, I will keep spraffing on so see you here again soon :) XXX

I've majorly fallen of the 5:2 wagon the last few weeks, I was on holiday for a week and caught a cold when I came back and felt too lousy to fast. The last few fast days before I went away started off well but I ended up binging in the evenings so I really haven't been doing very well so far.

Today is my first proper fast day in over a month and I'm damn well going to stick to it this time! I've had a banana for lunch and have bought an innocent veg pot for dinner. I've realised that I need to have food pre-prepared on my fast days because if I set foot in the kitchen to prepare a meal I just start binging :o

I know I've put a few pounds on lately and feel rubbish for it so hopefully that will motivate me to stick to my 500 calories a bit better.

Fasting day today. I find I go through phases of eating the same thing for fasting days. At the moment it's a egg and potato salad for lunch and then in the evening I have a bowl of cheesy cauliflower mash. I can't wait until the summer when it's easy just to have a salad for each meal but it's still so cold, I can't get excited for salad!

I feel the same re salads in summer. I am also finding the thought of being slim for summer very motivatins. Cheesy cauliflower mash sounds lovely - how do you make it.

I am fasting today and Wednesday. I have started to develop a routine of keeping busy until dinner and then surfing the net so I dont think about food so much.

Back on the wagon - fast day yesterday & 1lb down so I'm happy with that. I usually do a Thursday but I have a friend coming for a cuppa on Thursday with her Hubby & I'm sure there will be cake......;) So I'm aiming for Friday as DH can have Fish & Chips & I'll have the fish!
I also find that now I'm into the swing of it I can wait until the early evening before I eat 'cos I know how much I'll enjoy it & tomorrow is back to normal & WoW I too find I can do it easily if I'm busy all day

Fasting today, saw a hint of abs last week and have a mid line split all the time now.

How long have you been doing 5:2 for, and how much do you think you've lost?
    Hurray for abs! :D

Over a year and I have gone from 19 and a half stone to 15 stone 7. Before that with calorie counting I had gone from 22stone 10 to 19 and a half stone over 2 years and hit a plateau for nearly 2 years.
