Me and hubby are veggie so it'd be quorn even if I wasn't doing SW
Must agree though, I've been batch cooking lots and it does help. I can usually do a massive casserole or pasta sauce and it is 3 meals worth for the pair of us, sometimes the toddler will have some too but it depends what mood she is in!
I think (next to plenty of SFs) that planning is the biggest help to losing weight on SW. That's one of my tasks for this morning, doing my meal plan and shopping list. I don't have any HM ready meals left so need to make some soup and either Bolognese or chilli over the weekend.
My EE plan for today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, baked beans, HEA milk for teas
L: not sure but have tomatoes and mushrooms and some fruit to use upsausage, mash, cabbage, carrots, peas, fried onions
Syns: gravy and weekend wine!:j
Have a lovely weekend denise, hope the sun shines on you.:)0 -
I definitely over bought on fruit and veg last week as still have loads to use up so wont need to shop this week.
I feel I am eating for England but its nearly all free food so that's good.
When I think of the years I have wasted my time and been miserable with trying this diet and that I really wish I had heard of SW sooner.
I realised yesterday as I was raking the lawn that I had been gardening for about two hours, I couldn't have managed that a few months ago as usually have to sit down every half hour because my legs ache. seem so much stronger now and no where near the pain I used to get. Also realised I haven't had indigestion for ages so all good.
Have got loads of raspberries to pick, the lovely few days of sun seems to have brought them all on together .Slimming World at target0 -
Morning all - a STS for me this week - kinda disappointing - but I didn't get to the gym this week and I really need to to lose weight - ah well - will keep plugging away.0

Afternoon all,
so far so good today; we only have whole milk in atm so had to double check how much would make up my HeA
Breakfast was weetabix (bought yesterday, I seem to do better having cereal as my HeB) [HeB] with milk [from HeA] a sliced banana and some strawberries
About to have a mullerlight (again bought yesterday) a bit of cous cous (1syn) and some grapes as an almost lunch (not overly hungry)
Tea will be a salad - may syn some cheese...will see how I feel at the time

Hello and welcome to the board
Also welcome to marywooyeah and Maisie M - sorry, I read the pages from last to first (always was awkward, lol) and therefore see the earlier posts last!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Hi everyone, not read back.
Well my SW "holiday" resulted ina 2lb gain yesterday, as expected.
Didn't stick to plan yesterday - not even remotely. Tonight I'm going to an unxepected bbq, so that'll no doubt be outwith SW too.
Must try harder tomorrow.
Good luck everyone else.
No need to creep in greentiger.....I think just a 2lb gain is terrific after a holiday. I've seen members come back after a week with as much as an extra stone on :rotfl:
Just buckle back down and it'll drop off in the first week. Sometimes I think a little blow-out is a good way to get your weight moving again after a plateau.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Took some things down to our local church for their summer fair and got into a conversation with a lady I know about SW as she noticed I had lost weight. Was chatting away and telling her about the group and that DD and GD come with me when someone I didn't know overheard and joined in. well it was a virtual attack really, telling me it was disgusting to be taking my 14 year old DGD to a slimming club and didn't I know I could make her Anorexic and that slimming world were a money making machine and just drumming up trade by taking these youngsters. She was very forceful and didn't want to listen when I tried to explain that all DGD is being taught is healthy eating and that slimming world don't stand to gain anything by her going, it free for teens, and far from drumming up trade, if educating her now saves a life long weight problem then SW for any other club wont be making money. I do wish I had known about healthy eating when I was young
it would have saved me years of Yo-Yo dieting and at times being very miserable and hungry
Does anyone else take a teen and if not would you think it a good idea.
This encounter has quite upset me so would love to hear what others think.
I'm well behind with reading and catching up on here since I've been away for a couple of days, but your post has me seething. I just want to drag ignorant people along to a group and show them what we can eat.....no faddy foods, no starving (and going to bed early to get away from the kitchen) just loads of healthy, fresh food.
As I've said before, I read the pages from last to first, so I've seen other replies to this and just wanted to add my support to you. You are doing the very best thing you could possibly do for your family, teaching them about healthy eating while they're still young enough to make it a habit.
Younger members are encouraged to make healthy choices rather than having a plan set down for them. Given the choice between a bag of crisps or a yogurt, most children would choose the crisps without even realising the health implications. Once they know that a yogurt is so much healthier many will choose it in preference. The only thing SW do is give the facts and try to lead young members towards the healthy option.
Ignore the silly bat and if you see her again, point out how slim and healthy you are (and your family members) in contrast to her :rotfl:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Does anybody think it's time we had a new thread, this one is very long?I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
