Is this diet for everyone? I have stuck to plan and only lost a total of 8lb in 8 weeks, I know this is better than nothing but I am really disheartened. My consultant has checked my food plan and can find nothing wrong with it, I have dieted nearly all my adult life so I know what to do, maybe this diet isn't for me? but I have paid for 12 weeks so will have to stay with it a bit longer. sorry to moan

Losing 8lb in 8 weeks is good. I got to target losing 0.5 - 1lb a week. Slimming World themselves say 1 - 2lb is what to aim for. Please don't be disheartened.

But I've always thought that if it comes off slowly it is more likely to stay off - it certainly has for me and for several of my friends who are at target.

    Stick with it.

I'm in too for the challenge.

I'm gonna go for 5 lbs

A start into this last 10 lbs would be good.

Hi Chipsdog and welcome to the thread :)

Your comment that you have dieted almost all your adult life rings a bell for me.

After this amount of on again/off again dieting, unfortunately I think your metabolism may well be somewhat messed up. Luckily, if you stick to a healthy eating regime, such as SW, you should be able to bring about a change for the better.

You need now to stick with it, realising that a slow and steady loss is the best thing anyway and understand that it's not a sprint you're doing, but more of a marathon. Also if you want this to be the last time you have to 'diet' then take this plan as your "bible" - a healthy eating plan for you to follow for ever.

Good luck, keep posting and be happy with a very good and sustainable weight loss :)

Big welcome to Dumpling and Gingerfurball too :hello:

Welcome - Some people on the plan cruise to target and others take the scenic route, as long as your losing I wouldn't worry too much .

My plans went haywire after having to make a sudden trip to hospital visiting, managed to avoid the takeaway on the way home and managed to cook a chicken dinner from leftovers in the fridge
