Lantanna: the cheek of some folks thinking it's ok to say those things to someone
I'm with you although I won't make target this year, too much to lose but I hope to be a whole lot lighter.
Mrs R: Glad that assessment is over for you now and that they were nice to you.
Topgirl: that gastric episode sounds nasty, hope it went away and you're feeling a bit better
I still had some hazelnut flavoured coffee from Douwe Egberts and made an iced drink with that this morning, it was delicious but I am away to try the cappuccino yoghurt one now. Not sure if my blender can crush the ice, oh well, I can try.
Away to make mince and tatties, can't be bothered rolling the meatballs I was suppose to do,I have Jersey Royals, they are my all time favourite potato.
I love that coffee! Have you tried the caramel flavour? Also yum0 -
sarymclary wrote: »Re. the consultants. I mentioned this a few years back when I was first at my group, that our consultant doesn't set a good example. She's easily size 24/26, and never seems to get any smaller. She has a lot of health problems relating to her weight, sits in class sweating and has to have a portable battery fan on her face. She had said a year or so ago that she was going to try losing again, as her weight was affecting her mobility, but I noticed last week that she looks to have gained quite a bit again (I don't stay to class, and she's had a lot of new joiners this past couple of months, so is sat in the corner doing their chat when I WI, so I hadn't seen her properly for about 8 weeks). I know with SW they can call target at any weight, but I do feel that as a Consultant they need to be setting an example to the rest of the group, at least being on the journey and showing the plan works.
We had a stand-in consultant from another town while our's was on holiday, and she'd lost about 10 stone, had a lot of enthusiasm and energy, plus humour to add to the class, and that was infectious. Her achievement, and on-going journey to stay at target was pretty inspiring. She was also really doing the plan, she was eating the same food as us, and wanting to hear what others were doing with their food/recipes, etc. Our's isn't really that fussed, she just wants to get round the group, do a bit of clapping, and read from a script she repeats from one year to the next for classes. It's one of the reasons I don't stay to class, as I can't get anything out of it. My sister and I chatting about what new recipes we've tried, or how we've struggled to stay on plan during the journey in the car there/back is more rewarding.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

I think someone (def not me - I'm too dozy) should collect all those inane comments and post them on the first page of the thread so we can all be aware of and laugh at the idiocy out there. Then lantanna can write the book

As a pledge of my determination today I bought a water bottle from asda - it holds 700ml so I'm pledging to fill and drink it 3 times a day to aid the old weight loss...
Sooner I can get walking again the better
Returned to playgroup today with my mini me apparently

Evening all, DH is in the shed faffing with the scooters (and no, I don't lock him in there - honest!) so thought I would catch up and write a sociable post instead of just WI and run!
Meg - I was on a break at work when I read your post, it made me lol and I had to explain to my colleagues!
Let-me-be-lucky - I think I might have to get the weights out as I'm starting to notice flabby arms and I'm not even going to mention my jelly belly (I will continue to tuck it in to my apple catchers!)
Mrs Ryan - hope your assessment went well
Lantanna - Happy Birthday!! Hope you've had a lovely day. I'll join you in your target challenge. I've around another 7lb to lose til I'm officially "normal" - but only BMI, I don't think it will ever apply to any other part of my life!
I have to confess to Googling Peter Barlow - I don't do much TV!
Top Girl - hope you are feeling better soon
Dundee Doll - I use housework as my stress buster, everything gets done in half the time, lol!
Not sure who posted the syns in corned beef, but very happy to find it's quite low. I used to make a HUGE corned beef hash in the slow cooker using tonnes of root veg but thought that it would be off the menu. One tin would make at least 6 servings - more if I bulked it out with veg as a side dish. Not sure I would get away with serving it in a huge yorkshire pudding any more though!
Talking of flavoured yoghurts, Mr A's have just brought out their own brand FF Greek yoghurts. I bought a multi pack of coconut and honey ones. All I can say is mmmmmmmmmmmmm, the honey ones are lush. Not sure of the syn value, but would imagine it to be quite low.
One downside to losing weight is that my chest has disappeared!! Had to give in and buy some smaller bras, it was either that or stuff my old ones full of loo roll!
Off to Scotland on the scoots this weekend if the weather is anything like fit (watching the weather forecasts with a very keen eye) If we do go it will be cooking on a camp stove and lots of vodka syns.
Anyways, enough rambling! Sorry if I have missed anyone out - you lot can talk for Britain! Hope you all have a good week.0 -
Hello everyone, I'm new.
Lost 2.5 stone on SW when I was a teenager, kept it off for 10 years until I got marriedthen got a stressful job  then had a baby  at my heaviest when I was 42 weeks pregnant, I was 7.5 stone over my lightest weight :eek::eek::eek:
Then I had the baby and lost 2.5 stone in a week...it's the only time I've ever lost weight over xmas:D I then lost another stone and a bit thanks to bfeeding
and there I have remained for almost a year. I have tried to eat healthily and lost a few pound, then Easter happened :easter_os:EasterBun and I now reside a grand 4 stone above my lightest weight .
Being realistic, I don't want to get down to my lightest weight as I was doing Weight Watcher then and barely eating a thing. I'm being realistic and hoping just to lose another stone by Christmas.
This does sound realistic but I have got severe food intolerances and am limited to what fruit and veg I can eat and cannot eat any herbs or spices which is why I struggle with SW as I can't just knock up a SW curry or any other yummy fakeaway type things.
Anyway, just thought I would introduce myself (...again...I've been here before, pre-baby!) and have a question for any consultants or experts out there. I cannot eat any fibre whatsoever, therefore cannot have any of the B's. What alternatives are there to the B's? Is it acceptable to eat one slice of white bread? I understand B's are all about fibre (how I'd love to have 2 weetabix as a HEB each day) All I can eat is white bread and rice krispies, all other cereals and other types of bread are off limits. I'd be glad of any advice.
I hope I can stick to it, I've been 100% good today which is the first day in forever that I can truly say that!0 -
Evening All,
Happy Birthday Lantanna, hope you've had a lovely day!
Top Girl, hope you're feeling better this evening. Do you think it's a virus, or something you ate that's caused the upset?
Meg - I'm never going to look at someone posting a STS in the same way again!!!
MrsR - Glad your assessment is now out of the way. Hope you get the result you want.
All this talk of the cappuccino Mullers means I will now HAVE to seek them out on my next food shop. It seemed ridiculous that there was even a mention of synning the frappaccino anyway.
My favourite yogurts are still the Danio layered yogurts, as I find them very filling, and the greek style layer is so thick it takes a while for me to eat them. The Total 0% split pot Greek yogurts are also delicious, but much harder to come by, and can only seem to get them in Asd@, but not from the online store. Neither of these are syn free, but well worth the 1-2 syns in my book.
Today has been a quiet one for me. Did a bit of housework, but haven't done as much as I perhaps could have. Making the most of doing very little truth be told, before work starts in a couple of weeks.
Today's plan : EE
B - Total split pot (2), banana
L - 2 x high fibre White bread (HeB + 4 syns), 2 poached eggs. Flora light (2)
D - HM lasagne with lots of veg: mushrooms, onions, courgettes, peppers, carrots, celery, passata, garlic, mixed herbs. I made a white sauce from a small amount of butter & flour, then topped up with water/milk, cottage cheese & 2 laughing cow blue cheese triangles, nutmeg & black pepper. It was delicious, and made 6 portions, so I'm going to say my portion was 3 syns.
HeA - milk in teas/white sauce
Total syns = 11
Off to make my packed lunch for tomorrow now, as I'm off to the bike track with OH for the day. He did offer to buy some sandwiches from the s/mkt, but I said I'd rather organise my own, so I know I'm eating on plan. I won't stress about it so much that way, and can make an allowance for having a McD's on the way home, if that's what he wants to do.One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
Lantanna - happiest of birthdays xx:eek::eek::eek: Noooooooo I wont be happy to get a STD,typo, STS is what I want.
This really made me laugh!! :rotfl: brilliant typo..
Well done losers - Greentiger - brilliant result for you after waiting for a few weeks!:T
Topgirl - hope you're feeling better, give yourself some rest, you've been through a lot over the last few weeks xx
BEG - let us know how the icecream goes, I saw that and thought i'd try it at the weekend.. think it was meg who posted it, thanks x
I don't know who Peter Barlow is
Mildredd did they say how long your recovery would be? Bet you can't wait to be running around after mini me again
Ammonite :hello:how you doing? Healthy extra B - you could have nuts, oil, seeds, soup or cooked fruits - here's the list that Topgirl posted the other week, you might be able to find a few things off it.
