Dinner: I'm rebelling and going off plan because a few days ago someone mentioned STOVIES to me and they're calling out to me. I'll be making them the way my mother did, with round sliced sausage from the butcher, sliced potatoes, onions and carrots. I'm going to try them in the slow cooker so they'll be ready when we get home from football (hopefully will be able to just enjoy them, rather than make use of their "comfort food" properties, lol.

Hope your day goes as you wish, everyone.

I've heard of stovies but never tasted them. Are they a northern thing? Please post your recipe as it sounds from the ingredients as if it might be adaptable to SW.

:( sorry for the moan :( Im just finding losing inches at an alarming rate difficult to handle! I know its a good thing but as you all know my mental health isn't great and the weirdest little thing sends me into meltdown - im sat here almost in tears!!!
    Sorry again. Night all xxx

No need to apologise, only the other day lantanna was saying how hard it is to get used to being slimmer. Believe me, it is worth it and once you get your head around it you'll feel great and the feeling doesn't go away.:D I thought of you yesterday, two Lipsy tops in a local charity shop. One was too 'girlie' for me. I tried on a black one, very glam but the asymmetric hem looked like it'd been hacked with scissors so it stayed there. I used CSs a lot when I was dropping sizes and the habit's stuck.

I made a SC full of beef stew overnight, smells great! And I bought a gammon joint for Monday so I'll do lentil soup from the stock. Then I'll have plenty of HM soup for lunches, I've missed those lately.

    Today's EE menu:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB porage, HEA milk, synned a squirt of porage
L: beef stew (with onions, leeks, carrots, parsnip and potato)
D: going off plan. DH has an exam today so I'm treating him to an M&S chicken pie, his favourite!

Thank you everyone for your kind comments and offers of help, it's much appreciated! I was so gutted about this particular top as it took me ages to find something suitable for my meal that I liked- I trawled the whole of Leicester looking for something and rejected everything but as soon as I saw it I knew it was perfect :( normally I wouldn't be bothered but it's like my dress for awards ball- nothing else really would suit. :( I've been to all sorts of places shopping recently and have seen nothing like it or nothing that comes near it so I guess I may have to swallow the cost on this one :(
I've become a real charity shopper now and have a couple of shops where I always seem to find some lovely stuff- I've not been lucky enough to find any Lipsy yet (thanks Maman :)) but I've had 2 Hollister tops, a Jack Wills top and a Pineapple top along with some very lovely dressy jumpers/jumper dresses- I'm getting right into my labels now I can! But to those kind enough to ask I'm 33, and my style is either sporty (love my tracksuits) or smart casual- long tops with skinny jeans or leggings. I have to always wear long tops as I have a huge scar on my stomach which tends to show through clothes so I like to keep it covered. Thanks again all, much appreciated xxx

I'm moving towards skinnies and been buying straight leg (good ones in dark denim in Sainsbury's 25% off at the moment).

  • I'm here, I lost the plot over Christmas,( hubby buying me epic amounts of choc.) but the stress isn't stopping, and that's my trigger. Rather than ignore it, and head into a secondary comfort eating cycle of gaining and failing to stick to the plan, I'll be grabbing the bull by the horns tomorrow.
Like Frogga and others that I know lurk, I can't promise to keep up with the daily comments there are just too many for me to fairly respond to, and keep my sanity. SW helped me lose 6.5 stone just over a year and a half ago. I have a stone to re- lose.
Weigh In must be a Sunday morning as weekends are my biggest weakness now. I can't face group, for various reasons. I need to do this slow and steady, not make myself ill like last time.
I have my shiny mag, small book for a food diary - can't afford the £60 online fee. (Goodness knows why they don't to a monthly sub.) and my 2012 books.
1.5lb a week peoples. I need your help to keep me on track.
    Thank you.

    Evening gang,

Nice to see you Frogga, keep on plodding.

Swiper, we're all here to help and support. I don't think I'd keep getting back on the wagon when I've fallen off occasionally without it.

Well OH decided he was taking me out today, and we had a lovely time walking around a local town, so some body magic there. We had lunch in a lovely old tavern, and I chose ham, egg & fries, with salad. Only a few fries, and the rest was SW friendly and free :)

However, I did have 1/4 of a 7" pizza this evening, so very bad there :(

    Today's plan : EE

B - porridge (heb), milk (hea), sweetener
L - ham, egg, thick fries (5), lettuce, onions, peppers, tomatoes
D - Small slice of pizza (13 syns)
Supper - 0% lidl yogurt (0.5), apple, banana

So over syn count AGAIN! Not looking forward to next week's WI that's a fact, but once I've done it, I can look at undoing the harm this past week or so has done. Think 2/3 veg would not be a bad idea for a few days.

Hope you're all doing better than me.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home
