    Evening all.

Just want to say what a bunch of fabulous losses this week, a special well done to those struggling and those getting awards :T

I'm sad to say I will not be joining you, I really don't know what to do anymore. I had another gain this week taking my total to 5lb gain in 2 weeks. I really don't understand it as have been 100% on plan, I have just seriously upped my exercise - determined to be slimmer and more toned for when my hubby comes home in 8 weeks.

I broke down in group again last night, consultant and the rest of the group was so supportive. My consultant has asked me to do an SAS Log, never done one before but just have to write down every single thing that passes my lips, breaking everything down for eg. a cup of tea would have to include, milk, sugar, water, teabag! Its long but my consultant swears by it.

So now I am in a bit of quandary to I carry on with my exercise, or just focus on the weight loss. I'm really not sure the 2 can go together. I feel miffed paying £4.95 and getting no results with all the hard work I am putting in.

To those that do regular exercise did you find you gained weight at the beginning but then had loses? I was the proper green eyed monster in group last night when people were losing 3-4lbs and had a night out with friends, ate lots of cake etc etc  I'm feeling all this can not be good for my health, and I have been a proper miserable biatch for the last 24hours!!

So sorry Becks, just seen this.

I have felt since I started getting fitter and particularly running, that my jeans and trousers are tighter on my calves, not the worst thing as I used to have little chicken legs and hoping they develop a shape, but I am certainly gaining weight of some description there.

I'd do what your instructor suggests and give it 4 weeks and record everything you eat or drink until then but keep up the exercise as well.

That gives you a full 4 weeks on another plan or an exercise plan or both should this not be working for you, but gives SW a 'fair' chance to recover for you as well?

Thinking of you, I know how awful it is not to get results, whether it is my own fault or not.

Thanks Top Girl - will have a look in poundshops when I get into town - we have two different ones.

Becks - sorry to hear that things don't seem to be working out for you. As Top Girl says - maybe do a your consultant suggests and see how things go then make a decision. Hope you see some good results soon.

I've heard talk of putting mushy peas into SS soup, does anyone have experience and a good report of this? I LOVE mushy peas.

Really sad to read your post, can only echo what others have said and advise you to record everything and see if consultant can help. I find that although exercise does make me feel much better within myself, it doesn't affect my weight loss - only eating less does that.

There is also the thing about muscle weighing more than fat so maybe all the exercise you're doing is building muscle and so although you are losing fat, the number on the scales is not changing. Perhaps you could use a different method of measuring, like how well a certain pair of jeans fits, or what you are around your middle.

I am a struggler too with this issue so I understand. I try to keep in mind that I am eating healthily and keeping my body fit and not get too hung up on the scale reading. Having said that, my Wii said yesterday I had put on 3lbs overnight and I went into a depressed eating frenzy. (Yes, that would help!!)

Stick with this forum, people are very supportive and helpful, and will have been in your position at some point, even if you feel you are wasting your money and stop going to class.

It looks good to me wiz. Considering you really don't like much fruit and veg you're doing brilliantly. Have I missed any WIs from you?

Last Monday I stayed the same,,but I am hoping for a loss this Monday I won't mind if it's just a pound, but I would like it to be more like some of the others, I think I would die of shock if I lost four.

+ 1 for me last week but - 1 this week. so that's evened that out but doesn't help with the other gains I've had recently.

I'm hoping to find some quiet time this weekend and properly plan. It helps that its raining and dull as otherwise I'd be going to the shops.

I'm intending to do steak, roasted veg and sweet potato wedges for tea and tomorrow planning on making a sw friendly beef goulash.

Have a lovely weekend all x
  • Sorry to read your post Becks. I've also struggled with being 100% on plan with loads of exercise and not losing any weight, and I know how frustrating it is. I lost 2 stone October to January and then just half a stone January to now despite sticking to everything. Do you have syns? I found having 5-10 syns per day actually works better than being really strict and not having any at all. Someone said to me that if you aren't having syns you aren't doing the plan 100%, and I'd never thought of it like that before.

Despite not having lost much weight according to the scales, loads of people have commented in the last month about how much I look like I've lost. My friend even said "wow you must be well over 3 stone off now", so I know the gym must be helping me to tone and lose inches even if not actual lbs. Keep going Xx

    2lb loss this week please
Takes me to 41lb which is 20%.

Becks, it's 90% food 10% exercise. As they say you can't outrun your fork. Perhaps try my way for a week? I calorie count but just use sw principles as a mental guide. I've lost every week. It is easy after first few days and I feel accountable for everything that touches my lips.
The exercise is the difference between fit thin or just thin..
