    HI everyone

Not had a chance to catch up on this week yet. Shala moo a 3lb loss for week 2 of the challenge please.

Think this next week is going to be difficult. Having some problems with an old knee injury and awaiting an MRI, so not too mobile at the moment. Still mega busy though.

    Morning...

HDK - I wouldn't worry about your F&C, you've done well and you exercise loads so it shouldn't make much of a difference. I used to have a takeaway every week and still lose weight when I first started SW... See it as a treat and move on :D

Wiz, just because something is bread doesn't mean it's a healthy extra, it's very specific and listed in the book what the healthy extras are... They have to have the right amount of fibre in them to be a heb, it would usually be (but not always) Wholemeal type breads, nothing using white flour would be listed. Hope that helps.

Brilliant loss out of funds :T

Tazzyb, sounds like you've had a busy week :D but exciting.. Is this a new venture or have you just moved shops? Is it your own business?

I tend to swap between plans because sometimes I like to have the extra healthy extras..

Blre-Eyed-Girl, you can get scan bran in Holland and Barrett if you would prefer to get it before your group :D

Thanks for that 32b. There is a H & B in the next town but dont know if I will make it in today (knowing my luck it will probably be closed anyway on a Sunday) but it is good to know I can get them from there usually if needed.

    could you post recipe please?

I haven't got a particular recipe for the Scan Bran Chocolate Cake Annie I just googled it and there seems to be loads out there. Has anyone got a tried and tested recipe? :D

-1 lb for me please Shala I know it's a loss but not going very fast, is it? :( Oh well, better than a gain I suppose.

Being super productive today, catching up with housework. The dishwasher decided to release its water onto my kitchen floor last night so that was fun

I really fancied toast with peanut butter this morning so that is my syns gone for today already (white bread)

I think it will be roast chicken for tea with lots of veg and potatoes. Fruit salad for pudding.

    Have a good day

When I did SW many years ago, I seemed to remember there was a recipe for 'roasting' chickpeas in the oven. These could be flavoured and could be used as nibbles instead of peanuts. Anyone have any idea please? :D

Hi b.e.g we used to do this too, however we got told it was now syn-able as it abusing the free food rules:(

I think if you are doing this then the official rule is that you have to syn them using the highest syn value for the product I.e. Red day syns for chickpeas I guess..

Thanks for getting on to me. And although I put a t cake as B I will syn it but I thought it was bread anyway.
I didn't 't have the soup nor the crisps so it will just be the t cake. I had a jacket and beans instead.
Try again tomorrow. Oh, dear me, this is hard work.

Wizkid do you have the SW books, or are you able to access the online site for the lists of Healthy Extras? Generally speaking, you have to have a high fibre bread to count as a healthy extra, so any wholemeal bread (5 syns or 1 HeB per slice from an 800g loaf or 60g roll). The only white bread on the list is the new Allinson loaf that has wholemeal in it. Any other white bread is too processed, and has too little fibre in it to give you any benefit.

I meant to ask. I have noticed some of you switch from green to red to EE days. Have you found this helps with weight loss. I have been doing EE but looking at green I could do that do with no problems and the sound of extra Hex appeals.

I like to mix things up a bit, because I think it helps my body to keep things varied. I also like to have more Healthy Extras some days, especially if I am having a sandwich, or want to have some cheese, as well as my daily allowance of milk. If I'm having a baked potato, for example, then I'll either make it a veggie day, or I'll syn my meat as a HeB. That way I get to have a nice 40g of LF cheese on my spud, and if feels like a real treat.

Other days, I want to keep my carbs lighter so have an Original/Red day, as I'm convinced carbs do slow my weightloss, particularly pasta. I then have some cereal, potatoes or bread for my HeBs on those days. Perfect for having a cooked breakfast/brunch with lots of bacon, or ham salad Just be careful with some of your vegetables if you do those days, as things like parsnip, sweetcorn, sweet potato, peas, etc, which have a high natural sugar content.

Kiwi fruit have a natural high fibre content, and seem to have a bit of a magical effect. I also think adding some oils into your diet can help. I always 'go' very soon after having a meal that has more fat in than usual. I think it's a common side-effect of SW because it's such a naturally low fat diet, despite having all the fruit & fibre in it. Maybe use some syns on some oil over the next few days?

I forgot to say yesterday that I wished MrsLady (and MrLady, or should that be MrMan?) a very happy wedding day. I was thinking of them, and thought how wonderful it was going to be for her to be slinking into that smaller wedding dress. I hope you both had a fabulous time. Pictures would be lovely :D

Also, hoping Seabee's daughter and now son-in-law had a lovely wedding day. I'm sure the fabulous cake you made had a massive wow factor on the day.

Some good losses coming in still. I'm dreading WI tomorrow after 'citron tart-gate'.

The food delivery has been made, and the freezer has now been defrosted, thoroughly cleaned, switched back on and filled again. I also have a fridge full of yogurts to keep me on track.

Today's plan looks like being : EE

Brunch - Bacon sandwich HeB + 5 syns, ketchup 1 syn
    Snack - Apple
    Dinner - LO cottage pie
    HeA - milk in teas

If I need anything later I'll have a Muller Light for 1 syn

So, total syns = 6 or 7 in total
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home
