Two items of clothing now on my "too big" pile! :-)

Has anyone tried taking clothes in that get too big? Not sure if I'm being too ambitious with that! Thinking of asking for a sewing machine for my next bday.

    Have a good Sunday

shala_moo after reading MrsChristmas's post above, I'm wondering if not having many syns could be the reason I gained during my first week, instead of losing? Today is my 13th day on the plan and I've only had 6 syns the whole time. Maybe I need to treat myself a little more? :)

I'd say definitely be kinder to yourself and have syns. They're built into the plan and designed to make eating SW way sustainable in the long term. I'm convinced that people who don't have them may lose simply because they've cut calories but when they go back to eating 'normally' the weight will go back on. If you think about it, syns are all the sugary, fatty, calorie-laden things that we all know should be treats rather than regular daily eating.

Much better day yesterday. All planned and under control. I did have some wine and chocolate but that's usual for a weekend for me. I eventually got to do my food shop and my trolley looked like a harvest festival!

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: asparagus to eat up so that with savoury rice or an egg
D: beef casserole (inc. carrots, onions, mushrooms, celery) with new potatoes, cauli and broccoli.
Syns: sauce/gravy, squirt of syrup and wine syns.;)

  • Posting from phone again, from the side of a football pitch this time but wanted to check in with you all.

I cracked & had a bottle of red last night but just the 1! & no snacking like usual. Instead munched a couple bowls of my free veg curry so should still be well within my syns this week.
As has been discussed above, you have to have syns for this to be sustainable. I like a few glasses of red at some point over the weekend & probably always will :-) so I have to factor it into this healthy change of lifestyle, which is exactly what it is. Now I'm nearly a week in & got my head round the plan, I don't feel like I'm on a diet at all.... Just healthy eating. I feel so much better already.
    Today's plan
    Drinks-water, coffee, tea, milk (HEA)
    Breakfast-Alpen light bar, banana, mullerlight
Lunch-cold roast chicken, green leaf salad, low fat cottage cheese
    Snack-Alpen light bar, fruit
    Tea-LO veg curry on cauliflower

Thank you joedenise for the Aldi chicken syn look up!
It's so helpful reading all your meal plans
Hope you're all enjoying your weekend
Struggling to write on phone so will be back tomorrow via laptop! X

I couldn't agree more, healthy eating is exactly what SW is and the syn values and SFs really help keep the proportions right.

I'm another that loves my wine syns at weekends. When you think that there are 23 syns in a blueberry cupcake in Starbucks then it makes a glass of red look like health food!:rotfl:
  • so yesterday was a sort of right off -was going out to lunch with a friend and we went to GBK and my burger was amazing! but dread to think how many syns. Stuck with the plan for the rest of the day tho so thats a plus

    Todays plan:

    B: Alpen Bars hexb
L: jacket with tuna, cheese(hexa) and rocket salad
D: roast chicken with pots, carrots, peppers, onions, green beans and gravy

Syns will be in the gravy as I make my own from the juices and as I can't resist crispy skin a mouthful of that (7syns) so i reckon i will be in todays limit even without knowing the syns in the gravy xx
