I read somewhere on here I think that the tin of dahl from Asda is free, so I bought one cause it sounded nice. But what do I do with it :o Just eat it on its own or throw it in a curry, has anyone tried it?

I make a chickpea dahl loaf that is yummy.

    1 tin Asda chickpea dahl
    1 pack Batchelors curry rice
    2 Eggs

Make curried rice as instructions on packet and put in a bowl, mix in the tin of chickpea dahl and the 2 eggs, mix together and put into a loaf tin and cook for about 15-20 minutes on 200c. You can eat this hot or cold.

You can also put mixture into bun/muffin tins and these can be frozen into individual portions. I quite often take them to work with a salad.

    Morning..

Becks - i'm afraid i'd have been P'd off at the consultant too so I understand how your sister feels.. there's tough love but the consultant should surely be able to tell by now the people who can take it and the people who can't.. everyone needs talking to in a different way!

lantanna, maybe it's just a time in your life to focus on you.. and your size 12 knick-knacks! :rotfl:

Well i started the day with good intentions but got to work and realised i'd forgotten my breakfast :( luckily, i have an emergency box of nanna knitted shreddies so i had to make do with them instead!!

    so plan EE
    B - shreddies, milk (hea, 6:mad:)
    L - HM chicken soup, 2 x bread (heb)
T - jacket potato, salad, some sort of meat
    S - orange, crisps (6) milk in tea (2:mad:)

I've decided this week i'm going for soup lunches, sleeping properly, 10,000 steps a day and lots of water to see if it makes a dfference to my resolve.

The weekend was a write off so i'm not expecting miracles for weigh in Wednesday but hopefully the week after that will be better.

Did you know that you can have 35g Shreddies as a HEB?

    Another green day today.
B: magic porridge - really disliked this so only managed a few spoonfuls
L: syn free quiche, salad, pickles, cottage cheese - first time making these and they were lovely, used a small amount of hexb cheese on the top.
D: veg curry, rice, syn free onion bhaji, 1 poppadom, teaspoon of mango chutney - was yummy!

Not used up my hexb today as I didnt eat my porridge, so might toast a wholemeal roll later and put the rest of my cheese allowance on it. Used a hexa on milk in drinks so think I still have another to use. Snacks throughout the day have been fruit, so still have about 10 syns left for the day.

I'm really enjoying the green days, I find it easier to save syns for the evening and like having the extra hexs.

Discountmummy - If its not reduced fat your chedder needs to be 30g to by a HexA with no syns - or you could have had 3 light baby bells.

So you need to syn the light baby bells- I just checked and they are 2 syns each. The extra 10gm of Chedder cheese is another 2 syns.

So your total syns for the day is 9.5, measure your milk to. I quickly discovered I was using more then I thought in my cuppas.

As seabee said you do need to increase your fruit and veg then the weight should start dropping off you :)

mumoftwo and lantanna thanks for answering about the water - putting my bottle of pepsi max back and getting a pint of water now :rotfl:

Breakfast 2 x wholemeal toast, 2 x light laughing cow triangles, banana, 0 fat activa yoghurt
Lunch - Birds eye fusions med veg rice with home made turkey/qourn chilli stuffed full of veg, 0 fat activa yoghurt
Tea - Chilli (same as above) plain rice, cajun wedges

Snacks - 1 light baby bell, banana, apple

Syns 1 milk in cuppa, 1 toast weighed over by 10g, 2.5 fusion rice, 2 tassimo cream pod,

HexA 1 light baby bell, 2 light laughing cow triangles
    HeaB 2 x wholemeal bread

At the moment fancying some chocolate or crisps. Have both in and the syns to have one of them but after last weeks gain going to wait and see if I still want them in an hour or so.

Edit - had the crisp - 4 syns for some Salt and vinegar french fries. Total syns now 10.5

Hi all. Some great losses! there.

Lantanna - live your life to the full, you've shown you are in charge and that you won't just settle for anyone - he has to deserve you.

Anyhow, I didn't post yesterday as got in late from birthday dinner. Here's the damage for today
    Breakfast: WW yogurt & raspberries
Lunch: hexb bread with hexa Philly lightest and cucumber, banana
Dinner: tomato & mixed pepper pasta, hm bread (6)
Snacks: piece of carrot cake (does the carrot count as sf ;) - not a big piece but syns unknown)

    Tuesday's plan (family dinner)
    Breakfast: mackerel on hexb toast
    Lunch: leftover vegetables in frittata
Dinner: sausage & bean stew (1), mustard mash, cabbage

It's been a very "eaty" week, so again WI will be an adventure - I'll be looking at the scales through my fingers! That said, OH stayed the same and he's eaten tons of rubbish, boo!

    Evening all :)
Had a bit of a rubbish start to the day :( my MRI came back normal so the doctor has essentially said the pain is all in my head but she asked me what pain relief I wanted and she's put me on morphine basically to shut me up as I told her my Tramadol wasn't working for me. I'm waiting to get hold of another GP in the practice as I'm fairly sure it's not.
However my teaching session went reasonably well and I managed to get some good walking in.. Which has lead to a corking 3lb loss :) so I've lost double my gain from last week :) but I'm away at my sponsors meal this weekend  (not so much the food but the experience- it's like a one to one meal with your player  so consequently I'm away the entire weekend so I have a feeling many syns will be consumed..
    Today's menu.
B: Porridge (4.5 syns) Mullerlight, NAS cordial
L: MugShot, 2 x HiFi Rocky Road (HEXB) NAS cordial
T: Tesco Healthy living salmon and broccoli pie (2 syns) Uncle Ben's Thai Chilli Rice (2.5 syns) fresh strawberries, SW trifle (1 syn)
S: 3 Cracked Black pepper Ryvita (4.5 syns) ham, pease pudding, and HEXA laughing cow light.
    Syns: 14.5
    hope everyone's ok xx

    2lb for week 4 please

Getting lots of lovely comments at work, feeling so much better in myself and have now past the 2 stone mark. Long way still to go but doesn't feel like I'm dieting, feels completely sustainable as eating so much better. At times I look at my body and think how disgusting but then think how much better it is than 3 months ago. Next stone here I come....
