  • Good Morning to you too Frogga!

Someone was telling me the other day about a programme on the TV looking at fat and sugar. They said that the combination of fat and refined carbs/sugar that is in our favourite junk foods 'hits' the same pleasure receptors in the brain as heroin and opiates! So comparing food addiction to alcoholism is spot on - there are some foods that I know I cannot stop eating if I start (sugary, salt nuts being one!)

Here's looking forward the a new day.
    My food today will be:
BF - mushroom omlette and kiwi.
    L: ratatouille, pasta, salad, fruit.
D: Baked beans on toast (HEB), fruit and yogurt and honey (3 syns as it's not VLF yogurt).
HEA is milk in drinks. I'll snack on fruit.

I'm also going for a long dog walk today so I am hoping that will help shift a pound this week.
    Enjoy yourselves
    Seriously money saving

Cande - i have smilie issues too.. it happened when i updated something on my computer  I have to copy and paste them into my posts now.

JIL - feel free to come and join us, always nice to have fresh perspectives even if you're not following SW 100%

Well it's 3lb off for me this week.. It's only the weight i've lost that i put on over my birthday so i'm not that impressed with myself :rotfl: next week will be the defining week for me so hopefully i can keep this momentum going..

As it's weigh day today i'm treating myself to a sandwich (off plan) but homemade so not that bad.. in times gone by i'd have treated myself to fish and chips so this is definitely a step up..

    Morning all :j

Little whoops last night as 2 packs of Velvet Crunch fell into my mouth along with 4 squares of dark chocolate. I reckon that to be 4, 4 and 4 syns? so together with the 3.5 from my original plan it's only just over my daily allowance so not going to worry about them too much. Just need to find something else to do instead of raiding the cupboards when I am tired and bored!

    Today's plan will be Green

    B - 2 x wholemeal bread from a 400g loaf (HEB), banana
    S - Apple
L - 4 x Rye Ryvita (HEB), FF Cottage cheese with chives, WW Fromage Frais with fruit (0.5 syns), Banana, 2 x plums
    S - Orange
D - Sausage casserole made with Linda McCartney red onion sausages, onion, tin toms, baked beans, celery, red pepper and leek. Will probably serve with new pots or mash
S - FF plain greek yoghurt with frozen berries

HEA will be milk in coffee, not sure about 2nd one

Drinks will be green tea and nas squash

Right, duty calls. Have a good day everyone :T

Mildredd – Lol Yes I am still about in some shape or form. Your concern is lovely though J
Cande - I have to copy and paste the smilies as well! I’m the same as yourself food is my answer to everything – happy, sad, irritated, and just bored I eat.
Not in very good form here at all, my shoulder is burning and I’ve a horrible period and my heads officially melted. Yogurt and Oats for Breakfast fruit and salad for lunch.
Frogga – good to see you back – keep trying that’s all any of us can do xx

Morning folks, starting to think I am going to have to come on this board more than once a day as it is becoming harder and harder to keep up!! I love that everyone is so supportive though, and even if I don't reply to something you've posted, I love to hear how everyone is doing.

    * day today so can you register me as STS please Shala? The next week is about to be an absolute write off, what with 2 dates (both with dinner and one with alcohol) and then holibobs, all inclusive for a week. Will just need to do the best I can with whats in front of me and any damage can be sorted out afterwards. As my consultant says, "on plan, when I can".

Gonna try and success express as much as poss today and then I'm allowing myself a main and pudding tonight!! Practically drooling at the thought haha. Hope all you guys have a great day xxxxx

3rd weigh in and I have gained 3lb. Totally bamboozled, thought 8lb was far to high last week so weighed myself 11 times, got the same weight 10 times and higher once. Even moved the scales to different locations in case that was affecting it. Should have gone with the higher reading would have resulted in a .5lb loss.

I am constipated but its not going to be a 3lb poo!

Not gone over my syns, I had started to split my healthy extras. So going to stop that and just syn the milk in my coffee.

Totally gutted, but not going to let it beat me. Got the exercise bike built and did 5 km on it this morning. Killed me, so unfit and had it on the easiest setting to!

Breakfast - melon and activia 0 fat yoghurt
Dinner - jacket pot, salad, cottage cheese. Apple
Tea - Chicken stirfry, rice, apple

Syns - 100ml skimmed milk 2, will be having a tassimo cream pod later which is another 2, and there is 1 syn in my stirfry. So 5 for the day so far.

    :(:( 1lb on please Shala.
Think it is because my inner anteater has been snaffling on crackers/ bread this week esp when hubby gone to bed. Like lot of "secret eaters" i am not even hungry when i do it. Just imagine those secret cameras and the strange behaviours it would record with us all; esp the day before weigh in and esp the actual day and even more so , post W.I!!!!:eek:Cande, your posts were very useful and a bit close for comfort for me :o- thank you for them.
Right back on it!! Easter challenge is calling

  • Hi all,

Hope you don't mind me posting on your thread but have been reading it avidly for the last few days and have built up the confidence to post.

I managed to lose a dress size from 18 to 16 just by cutting out the rubbish but I would love to be a 14 if not smaller for my summer hols. So ive started slimming world.

Would you lovely peeps be able to tell me if im on the right track here?

Today: Brunch: Jacket potato and baked beans with mushrooms (cooked without anything), reduced fat cheese sprinkled on the top (hexa) and rocket/tomato salad

snack: 4 pieces from a left over garlic baguette (put in the fridge last night after dinner with friends and sort of fell into my mouth today grrr) Online says its 4.5syns for 3 pieces of this so 4 would be 6syns?

ryvita minis salt and vinegar (hexb)

Dinner: Stroganoff made using beef (all visibile fat removed), mushrooms and 0%greek yoghurt and fried in frylight with onions and herbs served with leek and rice

    pudding: strawberries

What do you guys think? sorry its such a long post! xx

Hi everyone, I am looking for advice.

I did SW years ago (red/green days) and lost 6st, unfortunately my Mum died and I lost the plot, regained the weight and then some. I have since done RC (lost 4st) and WW (lost 6st again) and now most of it is back on again.

I cannot go on like this, I look in the mirror and see a fat, hideous monster. I am thinking of doing SW again, however I am now vegetarian, is the eating plain veggy friendly? I also have the problem that I work 5.30-9.30pm so meal times tend to be strange.

Thanks for any advice you can offer
    Lynn
