Hey all, thought I should check in as I haven't been around for a while!!
Left my nasty job at meadowhall and got a fab new one... Got my uni results and managed to pull off a 2:1... Still managing to be OS most of the time... Got hit badly by the flooding thoughAlthough we didn't lose anything and the flat was OK (1st floor), the ground flooor and entrance hall were submerged. Apparently. Neither me nor OH saw as we didn't manage to get home on Monday night as we both work on Brightside Lane (that's the area you saw on the news where the helicopters were winching people to safety). Thankfully we're both OK, and we haven't lost any posessions except for food (Electricity was off for 48hrs so all my lovely home-cooked frozen meals had to be thrown). Minimal compared to some of our neighbours.
Anyway, HELLO to everyone - Congratulations, Comiserations and Hugs distributed around as necessary!
Take care

OMG just had a call from dd to let me know she is alright and struggling to get into work! I didn't know there was a problem but apparently someone (b*****d) is having a go at London again luckily the device was found before any damage done and right by where my dd works! feel sick and will be worried all day now! Wish she would work somewhere else but she loves her job.
made me forget about my dentist app though! :rolleyes:Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Not feeling like work (again) im so fed up with cleaning, when you are self employed it is so easy to take time off , but just cant afford to as need every penny at the mo.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOGROSE AND YOUR MUM xxx
Catz - ((HUGS)) to you and your DD, im sure she will be fine, and hope you will be too xxx
Roz - WELL DONE on getting your 2 : 1, glad you didnt have too many problems with the flooding.0 -
Hi all! Just dropping in before I go shopping. It has been raining hard until about ten minutes ago so I think I will do my big shop this morning instead of tomorrow because the forecast is so bad for the weekend.
TRU - is the 'Weston' Weston-super-Mare? My home town - I was brought up there! Say hello to it for me! Also, good luck with selling your cards; I'm sure your friend would be glad to stock them. Handmade cards are so irresistible compared to the mass-produced ones!
CATZNINE - good luck at the dentist and I'm so glad your DD is OK although I know you'll worry all day now, won't you?
AUSSIELASS - hope your DH is better soon.
DOGROSE - Happy Birthday to you.:bdaycake: :bdaycake:
ROZ - congrats on your 2:1 - well done. Glad you survived the floods - it's been terrible for the Brightside Lane area, hasn't it? I feel so sorry for everyone who has been affected. I hope the bad weather forecast for the weekend doesn't get as far as there this time.
Well, believe it or not, the sun has made an appearance but I think it only intends a brief wave and then it will disappear again. It certainly won't tempt me to put the washing out today!
AMIE - started looking at the war-time thread and you're right - it's absolutely fascinating! Now, where am I going to find that extra hour a day to keep up with it?
Anyway, I must go - I want to run the hoover round downstairs - upstairs had a good clean on Wednesday and still looks good so I can leave that for a few days apart from the daily swish in the bathroom.
If I manage to get all my shopping today, I shall have a mass-baking session tomorrow. Have had requests for Weetabix Brownies (DGS - he loves them!) and Weetabix Malt Loaf - don't know whose recipe that was but it's delicious.
Anyway, I'm off and I'm not even going to be tempted to look at other threads until I've done all my chores!
See you all later.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Morning everybody :hello:
Happy birthday dogrose and dogrose's mum :bdaycake:
Congratulations on the weight loss jockettuk :T
Happy anniversary to mr & mrs kyle - and the new haircut sounds great, I haven't been able to look at the pics yet as I can't get onto photo sites from work, and as MSE was down when I got home last night I couldn't look then either!
Life is gooood in the Rzl household this morning
1) My noisy neighbour has got back from holiday, turned off the alarm on his stereo and left me a very apologetic note :j :j :j The cheeky git even included details of the album in case I liked it :rotfl: Somehow I think that having heard it every morning for NINE days, I never need to hear it ever again
2) By some miracle, I don't have a hangovereven after several pints of a very nice summer ale and THREE G&Ts
... will have to try that beer again if it makes me feel so fresh the next morning!
3) Last night's drinks do (combined do for my colleague's 40th and another colleague's retirement) was on a bar tab all night and I didn't spend anything :j
4) I got a really good day's work done yesterday and am ahead of schedule to meet my deadline on Monday.
catznine, that's the first I'd heard about the bomb (I didn't watch the news this morning and I don't have to go through the centre of London to get to work) - but if there's major transport disruption, that would explain why my office is like the Marie Celeste this morning! At least it didn't go off - and hopefully there aren't more of them! I refuse to let terrorists affect the way I live my life, so s0d them is what I say...
Got a cheap standing ticket (£8) for the opera this evening - and if it doesn't go on too late, I will try and do a bit of housework before bed before somebody calls Kim and Aggie in
Edit: sorry, forgot to say congratulations Roz_V on the new job and the 2:1 :T :T My baby brother got his result this week, also a 2:1. Sorry you've been caught up in the floods
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape
