Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.



Good morning to one and all.

I eventually got to my 3 stone loss mark last night at my slimming class and now onto wards my 4 stone mark.. been hard but will be well worth it in the end..

dd has been off school with a sickness bug bless her she only been back one day since our hols and moaned as she missed sports day, her first at secondary school but hey cant go when your throwing up lol.

plan to catch up with the rest of the washing from hols today and do a bit of clearing out and sorting out all the rubbish ive been hording..

dd came home with a letter from school about a ski trip next april .. only costing £675 and that doesnt include the clothes or spending money, after sitting her down and explaing it all to her she has decided she doesnt want to go now as it will be to much like school hee hee or mabey it was that we cant afford that trip and a family hol next year as well.. bless her she wanted to go as it was a school trip but when she actually read the letter and found out that she wont have much freedom to do as she pleases and that its not like the hol we just had she said no and the price was a wee tad high..

It is our first wedding anniversery today, cant believe it was only a year ago we were married at gretna:j not sure what we are doing today yet, but will have our meal tonight to look forward too.

Sports festival again today for the boys, think it is rounders they are doing today, hope ds1 will be ok this time and that it doesnt rain too much!

i hope you dd feels better soon, and as for the school trip... where do they think that folk can find that sort of money just for a trip ? !!!!!!by the time you have the clothes and a bit of spending money, then your prob looking around about £1,000 !!!!!!! like you said, you can all have a nice family holiday for that next year. well done on your weight loss x x x

Morning.
Up early as it's a fishing day today. Looking out of the window, I have my doubts, but the skipper said it will get better as the day goes on.... Hmmmm. At the moment it looks nasty... But in faith I shall be off to Newquay soon for fried breakfast and then down to the quay with my tackle ready to go.
Neighbour is getting better every day:j should be home next week.

All I can think about is fishing and looking out of the window for the sun to appear through the gloom...

Son has his school leavers ball tonight, so we have that to photograph and see later.

Good morning everyone!

We got some more chicks woohoooo! I asked for 6, the receipt says 6, the label on the box says 6, but we can see 7 :j :T With our week-olds, that's 9, so as long as we can outwit Mr Fox there should be lots of lovely fresh eggs come spring. One of them's a boy, so we may even be able to raise some chicks *under a hen* :j :T Will post an update on the chicks' thread, once I locate my camera

Computer's playing up so I'll post this and be back later.

Back again! It's pouring with rain here, so all our plans are up in the air. DS was due to go camping with Scouts in Cumbria, but that's been cancelled. With the boys away, DD and I were due to go shopping for a wedding outfit for me, but partly because we have DS (who'll be bored) and partly because I think going to Sheffield is foolhardy atm. So we're postponing until DH is back.

DD has a sleepover planned tomorrow, so I've decided to invite DS's friends (who he'd have been camping with) also. Need to make some pasta sauce and profiteroles today. Will also make a cake, and some of Thriftlady's bread recipes for breakfasts.

Well off later to the dentist, this will be a 2 hour appointment :eek: so a long time in the chair! I am having a bridge fitted and this is part 2 of 3 appointments to get it done. This is why we need to save all our pennies. Soft food tonight I think!

What a good news start to the day - perhaps it'll be a great day for everyone today with a start like that!
Well, it's pouring down with rain here so that's a great start, isn't it? Rotten weather forecast for the weekend so I'm going to try and get all farm shop and butcher shop done today with a quick trip to the Co-op tomorrow. I'm glad I got a lot of washing dry yesterday but, somehow, the basket is full again! I must also do the rest of the ironing and tidy up my office area - it is such a muddle again! I am also in desperate need of a menu-planning session; since coming back from the trip away, I seem to have lost the plot meal-wise and it's so much harder when you don't have a plan, isn't it? If it rains all weekend and I have to stay indoors then I might as well use the time wisely!
Well, off for another cuppa and a shower - will call in later.

Had a lovely evening at my friends last night - she looked absolutly stunning in her wedding dress - one of those 'cant quite think of the right words to say' moments. They are getting nervous now, but im sure everything will go well (just hope we have some luck with the weather, know its likely to be raining, but a lull in the rain so they dont get wet would be nice!!).

Have 2 LOs here today, and no plans at all at th moment, they will prob want to do some cooking (their fav thing at the mo) so it might be that, or i might think of something they can make - i have lots of kitchen roll inards, so maybe paint them and make catapillers???

OK, need to get on, the kettle is calling me - hope everyone has a lovely day, and not too many problems with the weather!!!

Morning all
Raining here in Berkshire today, but at least I had a lay in, didn't get up till after 6, I've done the DW & WM, fed the fish, Thumper & Ogden. I have now got about 10 items on ebay & more ready to load. I'm going to finish my tea & toast & then trundle off to work.
