I start a Work Placement

It's not poverty, is it. Accommodation, food, healthcare all provided for. That is not poverty.
Doesn't change the fact you are perfectly happy to deprive someone of cancer drugs to fund someone who can't be bothered to work. There is limited money.
What is your stance on banks being bailed out for losing vast amounts of money? And then being sold off on the cheap with the unprofitable parts remaining the tax payers burden. I can assure you that is just a little bit more than £71 per week.
Still at least the bankers concerned were prosecuted eh....0 -
I did not twist your reasoning. There is limited resources, you wish to give some of the those resources to the completely undeserving compared to cancer sufferers who are dying due to a lack of resources.
If you don't like your own reasoning, change it, don't blame others.
I believe we were meant to be talking about GGs work placement opportunity.0 -
Fair enough. Apologies. I shall ignore all other attempts of Dennings to bait me. Let's get back on track
GG - just do the placement - surely it's better than doing nothing. And you might get something out of it if you put some effort in.
But I already done this placement in the past so I shouldn't be forced to do it again.0 -

What is the name of the scheme this placement is part of ?
Have you thought to check with Jobcentre what's going on ?0 -
Would it save all us tax payers money if those who didn't really want to work were just paid their £71.70 a week and left to get on with it and those who actually wanted to work were actually helped to get a job? Then when all the 'want to work' ones were in employment maybe then they could start on the don't want to work ones. Then all they would need to do is get all the working for cash except on signing day off JSA and it is sorted. The number of 'white van man' parked round the corner whilst someone is signing on is interesting.
Back a long time ago when I worked at a UBO (unemployment benefit office) it was someones job to check these things out. That person also had to look through adverts for local activities that certain people would run for cash. I guess those jobs don't even exist anymore but I think he caught more fraudulent claimers than they are doing now.0 -

Well, you have to do it don't you, whether you like it or not - so you may as well try and make the most of it. Would you rather do this, or sit at home watching daytime tv? I know what I would be doing! (Daytime tv is terrible :P)0 -

You have to DO IT, to claim your benefits. Us tax payers can't afford to keep you on unemployment benefit for the rest of your life - which to me and others on this forum it seems you want this!Well, you have to do it don't you, whether you like it or not - so you may as well try and make the most of it. He claims he does not watch daytime TV... but does watch Doctors - no doubt for the sexy men in it!

Has anyone noticed that GG seems to start threads and never responds to the serious points made or questions asked?
GG on a serious note, (and a question I have asked repeatedly) have you given consideration to going to college to get some qualifications? It might help you get a job in the long run! You would probably only had to do 1 day a week to bring your English and Maths skills up to scratch!0 -
Oh my God. Pardon? That last comment was monstrously unfair. Please feel free to quote the post when I said that i would be happy to deprive people of cancer drugs. Utterly unnecessary accusation because I happen to disagree with you! What??
It's a natural conclusion from your policy. For each pound you spend on someone who chooses not to work, or has excluded themselves by criminality, that's £1 less available to fund health care, education, or whatever.
It's not really unfair to point out the consequences of your preferred policy; no-one was saying that you'd want to deprive a cancer sufferer of care, but that's the very real outcome of spending money elsewhere.0 -

Will not be discussing this line of enquiry further so do please find someone else to have a keyboard fight with.0
