I wouldn't be claiming JSA - but yes I have read about things like that.0 -
What makes you think I don't want to volunteer? you don't know anything about me.
I am currently looking for volunteer positions on the following website: http://www.do-it.org.uk/search/vc/3628
I have made a few applications on that site so in future keep your opinions to yourself because like I stated, you don't know anything about me.
It took me 5 minutes to pick up an application for volunteering and a couple of weeks to sort out a start date. You kicked off this thread complaining that you didn't want to do a voluntary placement yes? Youve been unemployed for how long? 3 years? How much voluntary work have you actually done in that time? Id be interested to know. Because in the time youve spent on here in the last few months moaning and groaning about all your jobseeking related woes, I reckon someone who was actually motivated to volunteer would have actually sorted themselves out a volunteer placement by now. Talking the talk is fine, its actually getting off your backside that matters.
As for keeping my opinions to myself, certainly not. Don't know anything about you? You can't fart without posting on here, don't be absurd.0 -

Did you turn up to interviews wearing your gay t-shirt?0 -
All I can say is good luck, fantastic attitude and approach to it all despite all the obstacles. Shame a few people who constantly whinge here can't be bothered to even put in 10% of the positive effort you are.
I admit I am quite proud of all I have achieved despite being ill.I think it's brilliant too. An inspirationAs for keeping my opinions to myself, certainly not. Don't know anything about you? You can't fart without posting on here, don't be absurd.
GG we practically know everything about you... Have you actually realised how much information you have put on this forum about yourself? :eek:0 -
I have come to the conclusion that its far safer and cheaper to keep GG on benefits, can you imagine if he had a proper responsible job, it would be chaos.0

I have no dealings with the Job Centre as I'am in full time employment. As for spelling any one can make a mistake. We all not Queen's of the spelling B's like yourself.0 -

He provide a valuable purpose here, too. If anyone ever doubts that some people have made a career of swinging the lead and avoiding work, while making life difficult for the job centre, then tey can be pointed to any of GG's threads to be put straight.
He's priceless for anyone who wants to argue that benefits are sometimes paid to the wrong people.0 -
The OP made a post on another thread on the 1st of December about looking for volunteer work in a charity shop. Sorry, but unless every single charity shop in the area is full with volunteers, it does not take that long to get placed as a volunteer. References, a CRB check if necessary wouldnt take 11-12 weeks.
Its very easy to sit down and type about what you are looking to do, but there doesnt seem to be much doing.
Ive also noticed theres a recurring theme in the posts
1 Feel sorry for me because Im so hard done by, I sign on
2 If I dont like what you post I'll tell you to keep your opinions to yourself
Its very easy to be big bold and brave when you are behind a keyboard, but you might find people in the workplace whose opinions you dont care for, what then?
Flounce off in a huff?0 -
I was thinking of doing voluntary work a few months back, unfortunately my job may get a bit unpredictable in the next year so I couldn't commit to it. Both applied for were mid week things, teaching basic IT skills in a library and assistant football coaching for kids. Took me 10 mins to search and apply and 2 days for them to register interest in my applications.
3 months and no voluntary offers? Please...Professional Data Monkey
