Congratulations Cats, so pleased to hear of safe arrival of baby, and that you are both OK. It is useful to hear other people's birth stories - gives a nice, even perspective on things!
Sweetbabu - I'm still sleeping through the night as well. In fact, this morning I woke up on my back, and my tummy felt really flat. Had a momentary panic, but bump was back as soon as I got vertical :rotfl:0 -
Congratulations Cats & well done! You are right about best laid plans and all that, similar thing happened with my last baby, I managed to get through it all with just a little gas and air but then needed a spinal block and surgery when the placenta refused to birth
At the end of the day though as long as you and little one are ok then thats all that matters in the long run.
Snow, please could I be added to the list, I'm due 17th June - Thank you0 -
Firebird I've had that a few times, takes a minute or two to register that no I am still pregnant, and that no bump did not disappear over night. :rotfl:
Penguin hopefully you find it useful. Looking forward to starting mine in just over a weeks time. I think the breastfeeding one is our first.
Asked the OH about looking to get a night or two away before baby is here, he's said maybe so shall be looking at Groupon/Itison to see if there are any suitable deals. Also found out the crib I ordered last week in the sale is no longer in stock  and then checked the Mothercare website to see if they had it in, and no, its completely disappeared from there too!
Newthrift I always thought baby brain was just an excuse for being forgetful until it happened with me. Ended up at the wrong house on Sat to pick up my sisters, so spent about 40 mins stuck in traffic to pick them up, when all along they were 10 mins along the road :rotfl:0 -
Massive congratulations Cats and well done! So glad your baby girl is here safe and sound xx
Sorry you had a bad time of it and your plan went out the window. This is why my plan has no specifics and I'm keeping an open mind re labour, you just want them here safe! Hope you get home soon and bub has a name?
I spent the afternoon in maternity day care yesterday. Long story but baby is absolutely fine but had to see the doctor who said I had a migraine with aura which was causing me to have very bad blurred vision and nerve problems in my face and arm. Was quite frightening but I'm on the mend!
I'm on my phone just now so will try and hop on the laptop later to catch everyone's posts- seems alot more active here now xx0 -
Ugh another pregnancy side effect, nosebleed this morning. Off for my appt shortly so pretty antsy just now. We've just booked our last non baby week away, cottage by the coast in Wales, with the dogs at the start of mat. Couple of weekends for weddings after that but they're not quite the same. Oh and agreed one last weekend for husband to invite mates up for beer and computer games, obviously with a proviso for well we might have to cancel last minute if bean is early or chuck you all out and trek to the hospital. I'll be at the hospital on the sunday anyway for the breastfeeding workshop.
We're looking to book a week away about September too, with bean.
Had to reply to summer season volunteer request email for rowing saying count me out. It's too much standing, often remote and also rough ground0 -

Wow, what a lot of posts on here from last night! Congratulations Cats! So small! Hope you are all enjoying each other's company and getting to know each other! Bet the next few weeks will be a blur unlike the never ending nature of late pregnancy...
As for me; new symptom this morning: about 20 minutes of period-like pains and a really strong feeling of pressure in my front pelvic area (same area period pains usually occur). Felt like baby was fidgeting most of the time whilst it was painful, with the movement slightly higher up than the pain. Any ideas?? Will ask the midwife tomorrow morning anyway. Not too worried as it eased off after the 20 minutes. Not keen on a repeat though!
I'm also really starting to struggle with bladder pressure over the last few days (not sure if related). This is far from ideal for me as I drink like a fish and normally am pretty good at holding it in so only go to the loo every 3 hours or so. But now the pressure seems to stay half an hour after every little drink! So uncomfortable and inconvenient... moan moan. grrrrrrr, it ate my post.
Growth scan all ok but it's rate of growth we're concerned with so we'll be carrying on with those. Got matB1, just, last one in whole hospital, needed nurse rummaging.
And despite being high risk/seeing consultant, am still ok for midwife led unit, which i had assumed wouldn't be the case.0 -
Aww, massivr congratulations Cats!
Clara, i hope you feel better soon
Hehe, Firebird, that's quite funny! No chance of that happening here though as I feel like a hippo - Despite other people saying that my bump is quite neat!
I'm a stomach sleeper - I can't get to sleep any other way - but have also been ending up on my back as well.
Snow, I had a few episodes of that and baby is absolutely fineit killed at the time though!
If anyone is looking for bottles, babies r us has the large MAM starter set which has 12 bottles (and a cup drinking spout as well) down to £19.99. We were also sent a £5 off a £20 spend, so we bought a pack of wipes for 56p and got the money off.
I am planning to breastfeed, if the baby is able to, but bottles are always handy for later on - especially with the spout and handle for baby to hold later0 -
Thanks so much for that sweetbabu - putting my mind at rest. Wasn't too worried though given it was short-lived. Happened just after I'd settled down at my desk first thing this morning with a coffee. So odd. Glad I was seated at the time!!
Baby is slowly but shortly getting much stronger. Kicks can be a little uncomfy now! Despite my moan this lunchtime (still sore after this morning) - the rest of the day has been mostly symptom free so I'm feeling much better now. Looking forward to midwife tomorrow. Got the nurse half an hour before for whooping cough jab as well.Cleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.
