Congrats justD. Ladies how are you coping with heartburn? I've been to work today and got acid from bending down, took 2 chewy gaviscons and it's still burning away in my throat. I've seen that there are gaviscon advanced tablets I can take so thinking I'm going to try them and then if they don't help I'm going to the Dr's but I don't believe my Dr will give me anything, kinda said at the beginning of pregnancy that he won't. Although I have friends who'se Dr's have given them prescriptions for heartburn.
I'm not eating properly because if bending down gives me acid I can only imagine what real food will do to me. Not good.
Anyway no more moaning from me, hope you are all well and not suffering like meNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
Hiya havent posted since i introduced myself!
Has anyone had painful braxton hicks? Ive had two nights awake now in agony (two weeks apart not one after the other)
I though i was going to be sick with the pain last night. It lasted 3 hours too so im like a zombie in work today. I should really have rung the hospital but this is number 3, and i the other two were fast asleep and so it would have meant ringing my mother or mother in law to take me or baby sit in the middle of the night for dh to take me!
I'm 25 weeks and a few days btw!Still here..... but working on that!0 -
Hello everyone, sorry I haven't been posting much, and sorry to read of some ladies gripes/pains
Snowball I'd definitely speak to the physio dept at your hospital, as you may have the beginnings of SPD which will only get worse if not treated. Also ask work if they can offer you any support like a better chair.
Heartburn is a  and I find myself taking Gaviscon in the late afternoon/evening now and my nausea has returned in the evenings. It makes me cough, which aggreivates my sciatica and SPD.
So I am now 27+2 and feeling quite large. As I mentioned, I am getting the sickness again and suffering with SPD. I knew I would get it again as had it with DS.
I want to work as long as possible, but it is getting into work which is the problem. We also had a fire drill today so had to walk down 4 flights of stairs, then no rest as was on an early lunch
I have my GTT next Monday when I am 28 weeks, and am looking forward to my 34 week scan to check baby's growth.
She is very active now and the kicks can hurt. Nice and reassuring though0 -
Saw the midwife and heard baby's heartbeat again, she found it instantly and it was really strong so that was lovely.
I told her about my pelvic pain and she's done a referral for physio form, but given it to me and said I can post it or not, depending on how bad I feel it is. And of course ever since it's really not been too bad at all. I've been trying not to overdo anything, including not sitting or standing for long periods and it does seem to have improved things, so I'll see how I go.
Had my GTT this week, but I'll only hear from them if the results are bad.
And heartburn  Yep that has really stepped its game up this week. It's just constant!!!! Probably not that severe in itself but because there's no let up it's starting to get me down a bit. I'm trying the gaviscon tablets and they do seem to help a bit, but not enough and not for long. I also end up coughing with it and I'm worried I could flare up my pelvic pain as a result. Anyone tried anything over the counter that really works for them??0 -
Oh and Mothercare sale started today if anyone's interested!0

Just popping ahead from the next thread to say that there are several medications for heartburn/reflux which are safe in pregnancy - I had it badly in my first pregnancy from early on and was prescribed ranitidine and then omeprazole later on. I just asked my GPLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

I would try the liquid Gaviscon, tends to be better than the tablets. It's the pink bottle, double action0
-
Thanks!
I always found zantac (contains ranitidine) helped before pregnancy but when I asked the pharmacist, she advised I should check with GP/Midwife first. Forgot to ask last week0 -
Hi ladies!
Any advice on where I can get my hands on a preloved Pacapod bag?
Does anyone have one of these and can recommend?
I'm desperate for one but the one I like is over £200
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0
