No we didn't go for isofix. I don't think our travel system car seat is compatible with it. The other car seat is, but due to the car it will be used in, it will be as much of a faff to use an isofix base as it would to use seatbelt fastening. The doors are tiny so it makes it awkward whatever you use.
I'd rather save the money and spend it on something more useful.
So many people have asked what brand pushchair etc we are getting, there is quite a lot of pressure to say you have spent a fortune! It really would be wasted money for us though as we live out in the sticks so pavements are not really buggy friendly locally anyway.0 -

I know what you mean, my husband works with someone who has just spent £800 on theirs!!!!!!! I'm much happier with the £100 we spent. Once we have our car seat sorted the sling is next on my list.Recently married and loving it x0 -

What sling are you planning on getting? I'm looking for ideas
We have the sola and had to buy some adaptors for the maxi cosi pebble (non iso fix, as our car doesn't have it)
Afm, we have bought the baby a bambeano bean bag chair, my son had a funny head shape and we had treatment for it and are hoping to not go down that route again so planning on keeping pressure off the babies head as much as we can this time around.
Also bought a perfect prep, I'm going to try breastfeeding but also preparing for bottle feeding just in case, we bottle fed last time so anything to make that easier is a plus for us.
Went for my 28 week appointment this week and was butchered by a student midwife, going to refuse her if I see her next time. She was so rough in feeling for the baby and then sent shooting pains down my arms while I had my blood taken, and I love having my blood taken, totally not squeamish at all but this was bad. It's made me panic that she may be at my next appointment and I'll have to politely say no and I don't know how to.
Congrats on the births, enjoy your LosNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -

I've got a moby wrap, a connecta carrier, a woven wrap and a ring sling from when I had DS. It can be a bit addictiveMrshaworth2b wrote: »Went for my 28 week appointment this week and was butchered by a student midwife, going to refuse her if I see her next time. nightsky224 wrote: »We bought our 2nd hand pram from eBay a few weeks ago (mama and papa sola) very pleased with it as it also came with loads of extras and the carry cot bit. It did come with a car seat but not happy using it just in case. Was looking at buying a new car seat last night.... How much!!! With an ISO fix base it's going to be about £250!!! What have you guys gone for
Used the one we got as part of our system that I brought on ebay0 -
Nightsky - we got a cossato giggle travel system with the car seen thrown in for free so was under £400 for the lot. My mum has got us the isofix base as a gift but I would've been happy enough doing it with the seatbelt. Does seem convenient though. Had we had to buy the car seat I think I would've gotten an extended rear facing seat that was suitable from birth to 3/4years. Babies shouldn't be in the seats for longer than 2hrs so the function to put the seat on the pram is really only good for a quick pop into tesco.
Mrshaworth - we have gone for a connecta so that both hubby and I can use it. They come in some lovely fabrics and are a halfway house between a fabric sling and a structured sling. Hubby wouldn't have felt happy tying up a fabric one and the connecta is just three buckles. He has been practising with a stuffed animal and it seems easy.
Sorry to hear about the rubbish student MW - you can refuse to have students next time so that you avoid her. Although I've never seen the same student twice with my midwife.0 -
My usual midwife is off so I've had different ones for the last couple of appointment's, this student I have had before during my last birth would you believe, and she was shcoking then, every time she went to find the babies heartbeat she was going further up my tummy and doing it while I had contractions. So she's been bad for yearsNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0
