Congratulations again missy!
I'll let you know what they say on wednesday milly. What weight are they saying your baby will be by term? I don't think 8lb something is that big? both of my nephews were 8lb 7oz & nothing was said about inducing or a c-section for my SIL.0 -

Baby was 8lb 9 last Monday so we are looking at 9lbs plus very soon as I've been averaging 1 lb every 2 weeks.
An 8lb baby sounds fine to me. I wouldn't be worried with that but by term we could be looking at 9 lbs 10oz which does worry me some.0 -

I think I've crossed my wires. When you said you were going for a growth scan and may get induced, I'd assumed they were checking to see if baby was too large!0 -
Oh no they are, you are right. The problem is when they saw me 2 weeks ago it was the 1st time they had, I'd just been seeing my community midwife & even tho I was consultant lead for high bmi I wasn't seen until 37 weeks. They therefore have nothing to compare this scan to or any other info to track possible growth. Quite annoying that they're now saying this & asking why I havent been seen till this point when this was the only appointment I was given? What lead you to be sent for growths scans, I know you've probably said further back but I'm on my phone & it's hard to search. They estimated weight at 8lb 6oz at 37 weeks so I guess I'll just have to see what they say tomorrow.0

I was having regular scans for too much fluid so I've had a total of 7 scans in total. They were never worried about size of baby until my scan at 36 weeks where it's head circumference and abdominal circumference were large. Then again last week it had grown nearly another pound.
I have no more scans now! Just a lot of hope that baby come ASAP! I was hoping to be offered a sweep sooner but first one not till day before 40 weeks.0 -
Are you trying everything to try to get baby here early? I'm just going to wait & see what they say tomorrow & go from there. Not keen on induction at all & they have no other growth scans to compare to.....just hope both of our babies get a wriggle on now!0

Congrats missy.
Not much updating here-have wonky wifi, so hugs to everyone, and hope you are all ok.
Another stretch and sweep today, and by god she was brutal! Maybe it'll have the desired effect...
We have an induction date for Thursday, so am a bit gutted that we're not gonna get the birth we planned, but im trying to focus On the bigger picture that she'll (hopefully) be here by the weekend.
My MH and anxiety mean that I will struggle without OH being there, but an induction may well mean he gets sent home,so getting a bit worked up about that.'By all means let's be open minded, but not so open minded that our brains drop out.'0 -
Bubblepops - when pregnant with DD I was given an induction date, I eventually went into labour 9 days late and gave birth on the day the induction was due. Please don't be disheartened - there still time yet

Yea, but most of the stuff I've read online says nothing will start it unless body and baby are ready but if your body is there then certain things can give you the final kick to get contractions going. Obviously body ain't there yet.
I'm on my birthing ball a lot, rubbing in aromatherapy oil clary sage, eating pineapple, pressing acupuncture points and even stimulating nipples with breast pump(sorry tmi).
The clary sage oil definatly helps with contractions but they never go further than braxten hicks. Obviously, baby just not quite ready to come out into the world yet!0
