I had my 34 weeks appointment with my midwife yesterday. My blood pressure was rather high at 165/90, she said the cut off to be admitted was 160/100. No other symptoms and no protein in my wee but I have to go back tomorrow for it to be checked again. Really hoping it was just up as I'd had a busy morning & was running a bit late for my appointment.0

hope your BP is ok tomorrow Princess Kate.
I've now been signed off by my GP until my mat leave - which was only 3 weeks away but I just couldn't bear it any longer. The pain from my PGP (pelvic girdle pain) is ridiculous and I even have to use crutches in the house! I'm soooo bored because I can't even do much around the house
I've packed most things now for my hospital bag - just a few bits and pieces left that I have asked OH to get for me - arnica, dextrose tablets and lip balm! Baby bag is packed! I've even bought some chocolate in the hope that I might like it again after I've given birth!!! At least I'm not tempted to eat it now
Finished our ante-natal classes last night - have the "Infant feeding workshop" in a couple of weeks. Mental Health midwife on Monday - OH is coming with me for support after the last apt was... er... not what I expected!
Can't remember anything else about anyone/anything :rotfl: so I'll just say "big hugs and massages to anyone who needs them"Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
Even tho you're bored glad you don't need to worry about work now Aunty! I'm sure you'll soon find the love for daytime tv!
Those who have packed their bags, how big are they? I don't want to turn up with the biggest bag they've ever seen but there is quite a lot of stuff you need to take with you!0 -
yes, I'm not really missing work at all!!! (except the nurses who I was sec for - they were lovely)
I've kind of packed different bags so they are quite small - one for baby, one for labour and one for me for afterwards if I stay in. I figure if everything goes smoothly (and depending on time of day etc) I could be out the same day in which case there's no point having lots of changes of clothes etc. If we go in with not much then OH can always go to the car and get more. I'd rather that than go in with loads of stuff that isn't used.Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock0 -
I've only packed baby's bag so far and I used my Oyster changing bag that I got free with the pram
Its a tight squeeze though, I've probably packed far too much. Will take nappies separately in a carrier bag in the car as they're so bulky so haven't put any in the bag. For clothes, I've packed a selection of vests and suits of newborn size which vary in size up between 9-10lbs. We got given a couple of tiny baby outfits but I think baby would probably fit in them now! But being as they're so tiny there's no trouble in taking them. If baby doesn't fit in the clothes I've packed then we've got a big Tesco about 2 minutes from the hospital so no big deal.
We went to a Mothercare Expectant Parent event earlier in the week and I really didn't find it that helpful! I think that is just because all of the things they were talking about we have sorted already. Which car seat? Which mattress? As for the feeding talk which I was most looking forward to, all the woman did was show us pretty much every product they stock! No advice or anything, I felt it was more of an event for them to market their products rather than inform expectant parents, but then I can imagine that if we went when I was much earlier in the pregnancy it would have been much better as I would have known less than I already do now. Goody bag was alright though, had some Pregnacare vits, Pregnacare stretch mark cream, an Ariel washing tablet sample, sample Bepanthen and some free vouchers. We didn't use the 10% voucher as we've realised we've got pretty much everything!
Also had my 34 week appointment and all is fine, baby's head is starting to engage but the midwife assured me that its normal and it doesn't mean anything will happen any time soon!0 -
I packed baby's bag into our changing bag, just about fit everything in it! I have a small roller suitcase, and then will leave another pile at home for OH to bring if I need it. Hopefully not as we were discharged after 6 hours last time!
Those of you saying no to tiny baby clothes, my son was 9.5lb when he was born and newborn absolutely hung off him! We had to call at Asda for tiny baby things on the way home! So goes to show
Midwife yesterday, was sent to hospital as been having a few headaches and flashing lights. Midwife picked up protein in urine and a higher BP so had to go for monitoring. Got to go back for repeat tests tomorrow so hopefully it's nothing serious. Baby was perfectly active though so that's one less worry.
