  • Mrs TM, Eli is just gorgeous!! Hope you are all doing well and getting on ok, I think you're home now right? Enjoy every second!

Hello to all the newbies! :j

Oh Milly, what a difficult situation altho IMO I think your sil is being unreasonable. If you absolutely love the name you've chosen, go with it! There are lots of things that could happen and sil may not even have kids, or may have boys! I don't think you should give up a name you like 'just in case'. What does your OH think?

Aunty P, so very glad your MW was more reasonable when you spoke to her. How are you feeling about the situation now?

As for me, I'm very achey and tired at the mo, feeling not quite right but can't figure out why or what it do about it. Was in floods of tears as well this morning as ds is not very nice to me at the mo (constantly telling me to go away, he doesn't love me, he's not my friend etc) and always asking for OH and begging OH not to go to work and leave him with me. I know this is because OH is doing more with him so I can have a break and I'm not doing as much as I'm just so uncomfortable but it breaks my heart. Not helped by the fact I'm a hormonal mess anyway! Really hoping he stops being so mean soon tho!

Nice it see some 'faces' on the fb group, hope done more of you cone over and join us soon.
  • wow milly, that's really tough.
is she likely to have any children any time soon?

we haven't had anything like that fortunately.

She isn't married but in a serious relationship and 2 years older than me. So I'd imagine in the. Next 3 or so years!
  • Amazing news Mrs T M. He looks gorgeous. Congratulations.
  • Congrats Mrs TM! Hope that you are less tired and enjoying baby cuddles.

Milly I think that you should name the baby the name she likes. There is no guarantee that she will have a girl or even still like the name when she has a baby. I had names I liked when my sister was pregnant with a girl and I changed my mind when I found out that I was expecting a girl. It is a very difficult situation so I hope your OH is supportive either way.

I guess that now I have moved over to this thread I should think about preparing for her arrival. I really don't know quite where to start though as I'm in the middle of buying a house.
  • Many congratulations Mrs_T_M, little Eli looks gorgeous so I hope you're enjoying newborn snuggles at home now :)

milly - we had a similar situation with my SIL two years ago, although it was her who named her daughter our favourite name! We hadn't actually told her it was a favourite name so she had no way of knowing, but it was annoying none the less! Now we are actually expecting though, we have obviously gotten over it and our name choices have changed anyways. As ashtray and Always said, she may never actually have a girl, or her taste may change. The way I see it, you are first so if you have a girl you get first dibs :p I'm sure she'll get over it so I wouldn't worry about using the name if it is your favourite.

I finally seem to be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with regards to my cough and cold :j Last night I managed to sleep all the way through until 5am, which was much better than every hour the night before! Still very congested but I've been feeling much better in myself today and more human.

I went shopping yesterday and got some nighties from Primarni as well as some pants, but will get some more I think just in case as they seem quite snug! Also went shopping with DH today for my birthday and he bought me a chain so I can wear my wedding and engagement rings round my neck, as my fingers have gotten too fat and swollen to wear them properly anymore :o

Finally, for any of you who have joined the Boots Parenting club, one of their current offers on their app is a free pack of Boots brand pregnancy vitamins which are normally around £3.50 so I picked myself up a pack as well as some Lansinoh which was one of the last things from my list. Think I'm pretty much there with the hospital bag bits now, just need to pack it! Baby's bag is all done though so at least one of us will have clothes :p
  • *de-lurks* HUGE congratulations, Mrs_T_M!! :j Eli looks absolutely beautiful. Hope you are recovering well and enjoying all the wonderful baby cuddles. :)

  • Congrats Mrs t m, he looks srummy!

Milly, I would just use the name if you like it. As people have said maybe sil won't have children or will have boys you just don't know.

Missy moo - advice might be a bit late, I have had a terrible cold this week as well and have also done steam inhalations with a couple of drops of eucalyptus 3 times a day when congested, I fint it really helps.

Feeling exhausted tonight, I swam 40 lengths this morning and I think I let my blood sugar get too low while cooking dinner made me feel exhausted and a bit sticky. Currently sitting on the sofa resting while dh puts our 2 year old to bed.

Always alone- sorry to hear you ds is causing problems, hopefully it's just a phase. I do worry about loosing the bond with my little boy when baby comes along as I just won't get as much quality time with him.

  • Hi Ladies,

Firstly congratulations to Mrs TM - Eli is absolutely gorgeous :)

Just a quick question...I have in the very recent past suffered from anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia and mild depression. I sought counselling and worked through a few of my issues.

Recently, mainly when I'm tired, I have begun to feel slightly down. No suicidal thoughts, no thoughts of wanting to harm the baby etc, but just feeling overwhelmed and that I may not cope to look after my 7 year old and a newborn.

Has anyone else had this? When I next see my mw I will mention it to her and will mention it to DH tonight.

Like I say it doesn't happen all the time and is mainly when I'm tired.

  • Congratulations Mrs TM, he's beautiful!

Milly. I'd use the name you love if it was me! She might be destined to have boys or go off the name x

Missymoo. I've packed my bag too, got some Beautiful lace nursing bras from Tesco sale for £4.50 so I officially have everything I need (apart from a water spray) so all done on that. I saw a display in our boots too for mother and baby freebies, there was a pack of vitamins, a mam bottle and soother and a pack of breast pads so maybe the offers change :) they were nice freebies x

31+1 today and feel massive! Struggling with tiredness too, think I underestimated how hard being pregnant was with looking after 2 other kiddies too! X

We are home, arrived here last night around 11pm. Milk came in this morning, so he's been sleeping a bit longer at a time. I do suggest you ladies get some arnica to take after you have your littles. I've only been on it today so far, but my bruising and soreness is already getting better with it than it would have without! I'm still very anaemic with a low iron count, so I'm very tired and irritable (poor DH and my mom!), but things are getting better. :) Eli is so worth it though!
