  • Sorry, didn't mean to sound dismissive of it - it most definitely is a crucial message. Think it just felt a little too close to the bone for me right now, IYSWIM?

Didn't mean to come across as dismissive

    Hugs xx

Yay for my Oyster buddy, Princess!! We're not buying a colour pack until baby is here because I want the Vogue Humbug I it's a girl but will probably go for Teal if a boy (also vogue!) I'm also having second thoughts about buying a carrycot, had originally thought we would do without but I'm not sure now. Also, funny you mention the pram today, I had a strange dream last night that I'd made an error in getting the 2 and should have got the max as I needed to add the twin / second seat after realising I'm actually expecting twins, but it was too late to exchange so had to fork out again! Very odd :p

Decorating is not going to plan! DH and my dad painted today but instead of a natural and neutral light brown (mocha) it had a pinky lilac tinge! Doesn't match the carpet at all and seems too girly, although very lovely. So we took a spare tin of paint from my dad as he has finished decorating their house and DH being his usual urgent self had to put it in straight away after coming in from dinner... Currently gone midnight and he's still going :o but it does look much nicer and more neutral :) I also built our Snuzpod today and it's amazing, I can't wait to use it!

Happy birthday Bubblepops!!! Hope you had a lovely day and took it easy :) good luck for your appointment, I hope all goes well. I've not watched Call the Midwife as I don't normally watch it anyway but I'm now intrigued so will download it to the sky box.

Mrs_T_M - amazing list! Well done for getting organised, I think I shall refer back to your post when I come to do my hospital bag. I'm intrigued by some if your items though... Torch!? :p
  • Hope today wasn't too upsetting for you either, Mrs_T_M, and that the impending arrival of your little boy has helped to make things a little easier xx
  • Bubblepops- I didn't mean to sound like you were being dismissive, I just thought it was an important topic. I know what you mean about being too close to home at the mo tho. It was quite well dealt with.

What a nightmare about the decorating Missy! Glad you've mansged to find another colour to get it how you want it tho. How funny about your dream, goodness imagine surprise twins!! They did suggest to us about buying the max for if we have 2 close together but I couldn't get my head around that so just went for the 2!! I really like a newborn in a carry cot, I know they say you can use the pushchair from birth but they look cute wrapped up in a carrycot. God knows where I'll store it after baby grows out of it but that'll get sorted.

lotti i hope you're having newborn snuggles by now and lall went well :)

Mrs T M, that's a fantastic list! Thinking of you today xx

bubblepops, belated happy birthday! good luck for your scan today, i hope all goes well.

Princess Kate you seem so organised! I've bought hardly anything, just a breast pump! i feel like i have loads to do.

Had a bit of a scare yesterday, i started bleeding during sex, it was bright red and quite a bit of it, and spent the afternoon in hospital getting checked out. thankfully all seems well with the baby and placenta, but there seems to be an "abnormality" on my cervix, so waiting on an appointment to find out what that could be. I'm pretty terrified to be honest, just don't know what to think.

  • princess kate it's ok! I reread my original post, and thought it sounded a bit 'meh', but no bother, done now ;)

missymoo :rotfl: to your dream, I think they say dreams get more weird towards the end of our pregnancy, maybe it's the anxiety about the big day? I woke OH up last week distraught because we had too much cabbage... :o

Boo to the paint, but props to your hubby, bless him! Ooh, you bought the snuzpod? I'll bet you're excited now! We bought the Chicco cosleeper, can't wait til our room is done to get it in there!

gayleygoo hugs. Hope you're ok, I know it's scary, but they wouldn't have let you home if they were concerned in any way. Apparently sex is the most common cause of bleeding in pregnancy, someone to do with it 'aggravating' your changing cervix really easily. (Talk about a passion killer!!)
I know all of these will just be words for you right now, but please take it easy, and Keep us up to date, won't you?

Thanks for the birthday and well wishes for today people.

Not slept well at all, worrying about today, but I did have a chuckle in the middle of the night, had to get up and move one of the cats, as he was sat slapping OH in the face when OH was asleep.

He turns into a little creep when OH is asleep. Sits and stares at him for hours-weird...

Hugs to all, hope everyone has a nice day xxx

Home births are generally set with the lights fairly dim, so if the midwife needs to check something out, she will need light, and we don't have a small lamp that's bright enough that won't blind me while she does the checks, thus, the torch!

I'm washing muslins and going to try to work on a baby quilt later on today. Taking it easy, just trying to stay busy. Little boy is being really active, but really gentle today. I think he knows something is up with mommy and she needs a bit more love today.

So I had another hospital appointment again, as I have every Monday it seems since Xmas. I had a another ultrasound and got my blood test results from last week.

Baby is average size and weight - all good. And no gestational diabetes. Whoop whoo. Thyroid levels back to where they should be also.

But I still have way too much fluid for some unknown reason. But not quite as high as 2 weeks ago.

They plan to keep a close eye on it as it can mean complications so another scan in 2 weeks.

Though it's nice to keep seeing baby, I get paranoid they may find out sex of baby accidently so keep looking away wherever they look lower than the abdomen. But I was able to bring my mum with me who is off work after some surgery so she really enjoyed seeing baby on scan.
