Hi Katherinedrex, your enthusiasm is commendable, but if you list every thing you,ll be spending money on retreads for your fingers lol. I have to agree with lil-me on the seasoning, most have the same base but a lot of salt, cant comment on pickled onions though, not great at these kind of things, never tried mind you.
Well I spent my last for this months challenge, but I didnt actually spend any money £4.00 luncheon vouchers and £1.09 moc, so I,m not changing my sig as I,ve been taking these off my totals for June. I dont think I,m brave enough to start a pin money as well, I,ll have a serious think about that

Easiest way to list everything is keep the receipts together, most have a list of what is bought there is only my fruit and veg and the butchers one I have to write on what I bought, sometimes the butcher does write it out if I've pre ordered but when I just pop in it's not. I have a document wallet and in that I keep meal plans (on my meal plan is how much I will use for example 2 peppers 3 chicken breasts etc but not down to the little bits of herbs etc) and the receipts. It's much easier than typing/writing it all out.

Teedy with the PMS, it's a good way of tracking how much you have saved with the LVs, MOCs etc
One day I might be more organised...........

    Hi helenjenn,
Welcome to OS and the thread! Good for you!

Your budget is personal to you and your lifestyle, maybe try a month of keeping reciepts and having a tot-up at the end to see where you're spending you're money?

Wishing you luck all the same.

My challenge will be £300 again. I went 88p over my revised budget in June (revised to include holiday spending) as I was adding stuff up round Asda the other day and forgot to add on 2 pints of milk. So went over by 88p. (I'm shopping for 2 adults and 2 small children)

In July I will have Veg box spends of between £60-£80 depending on what I get. So that leaves £55 per week in supermarket which should be OK. Any left will go in savings and I will reduce amount next month hopefully:)

Takeaways to come out of this budget I have decided.

    1st shop tomorrow.

Hi HELENJEN, depends what you eat really, but you will find just because your looking at it you,ll cut down automatically. It,s a start on the way to debt freedom. Ive saved lots on food just by watching my waste, and cooking in bulk. It may mean you dont spend less in the first month ,as your buying in bulk too, but it very quickly kicks in. Heres to freedom! Good luck

  • Waht a great thread! I've been keeping track f all my spending for a couple of yers and foudn it a great help but lack in incentive to keep downward pressure on our grocery spend. Coooking for myself, DH, DS x3 + DD- 6 in total- we never eat out and I make packed lunches.DH works form home so making lunch for him too every day.

Spend on food in June £490!! (too much)

Aim for July £360 which is more like my average monthlyspend over the last couple of years( ie £60/person/monht)- will aim for lower when I'm back on track

Okay.... I've been failing miserably at this challenge so I've decided to start from scratch.

Back to the challenge from 19th June - 18th July, budget of £200 this month which is the amount we;ve always put aside for food and the ain this month is to just get under this. I feel I need to give myself a positive attempt this month :o

Then as of next month maybe start knocking £10 off per month until I get to my comfort zone.... I think I came at this challenge the completelly wrong way before by literally trying to suddenly halve the budget from £200 to £100.

Spends so far since 19th June total £90-odd. I'll update with a precise amount on Monday evening when I do a little bit more shopping (precise budget is on a spread sheet on the other computer

    Hi

Went to Lidl today to have a browse and find a few bits. I can across something that i thought had died. Customer care. Now i have one of them trolley tokens but it did not fit in the trolley. One of the staff there lent me a pound for the trolley :T :T :T . How good is that. Restores my faith in my fellow man/person.

    ym

PS. I did return the coin.
