I'm in again for July - going to set a budget of £60 for 4 weeks shopping. This may be a bit adventurous as I've used most of the freezer stock over the last few weeks, but we'll see how we go.....
Good luck everyone!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

This will be my first challenge so will see how it goes.
Im gonna try for £140 that will be for 3 weeks as i am going on holiday for a week and have budgeted seperately for that.
Theres me, ds15, 1 dog, 2 cats and 2 hens.
My dog is fed on tripe (yuuck)which costs £2 a week. I get 4 weeks supply at a time so am including this in the budget. The hens food costs approx £3.50 per month and the cats have pouches and biscuits.
I want do do this properly so have included the pet food costs.
I will be having a rummage through the cupboards today and am going to try to use up as much as i can from the freezer too. I am off on holiday on the 7th july so dont want to be buying much this week as i dont want to waste food that we wont be here to eat.
Will go shopping on monday after doing a well planned list and meal plan for the week.
Does the above sound ok?
good luck everyone

And I agree, Mike... they ought not to offer a service if they don't tell their staff about it. Or maybe the guy was pulling a fast one... either way, there's potentially a training issue and they might be ever so grateful you brought it to their attention.0 -
Hi Mike
Really looking forward to hearing the outcome of this as it's my pet hate about internet shopping, you end up with thousands of bags.
I have given them back the next week but they get on your nerves filling up the cupboard under the stairs and not all the drivers are amenable about taking them back.
Please let us know what happens.:cool:BerkshireBird:hello:
GC £60 per week
week 1 £48.00 YAY!
week 2 £56.74 still ok, just.
Week 3 £65.00must try harder.

My dd lives in berkshire and the Mr T delivery men always wait for her to empty the plastic carrier bags and take them back straight away. They dont carry the boxes into the house though, apparently they are only supposed to drop at the doorway (inside the door thankfully!).... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Hi.
In my continuing search for bargains i went to my local Morrisons today. Stocked up on loads and i did not realise how many bargains they have. Spent £68.92 but that would have cost me at least £90+ at my usual Mr T.

By the way Mr T will deliver without bags now and they say the delivery man should unload the boxes but one should help him. On my last delivery where I had specified no bags the delivery man refused to unload the boxes saying that all he had to do was bring the boxes in. I don't really want to complain as I like a to keep good relationship with with the tradesmen. Am I right?
Good luck to one and all.
Well mike, When mine got delivered this week i got no bags too. She brought them to the front door and said that if i could carry one though at a time to unpack them in my kitchen as thats what they normally do now. took me ages to get to kitchen and get all out. Would not mind so much as i only had the bags brought though to the door and i took to kitchen butht he boxes are heavier and i have a bad shoulder.
I did not think to complain but maybe i will now.
Checked the MR T website and this is there advice on going bag free- What happens when I choose to have a delivery without bags?
Tesco.com currently delivers your groceries in plastic bags that are placed inside stackable green trays. We will place your shopping directly in to the tray and then unload it for you either at your door or on to your kitchen table / surfaces. As this will take us longer, we would really appreciate any help you can offer to our drivers.

Just me and the three mice as usual this month (although I will have another 20+ mice in just under 3 weeks  as my mice have mated) and I'm budgeting £40 again and I'm hoping I can do this. It includes my food, the mice food, sawdust for the mice, toiletries and the like. I'm not sure if I'll make it as the freezer and the fridge are starting to look bare
oh well we'll see :rotfl:.
