    Not a good start....

Wanted to make a fish pie tonight and the only supermarket closeby with half decent fish counter is the dreaded Waitrose! I needed 1lb of haddock, half pound of smoked haddock, and some parsley. The fish alone came to £11! How can I justify spending that amount and more on one meal whilst trying to take part in July's GC - shame on me! :o

After picking up some strawberries, and of course, cream, a gingerbread biscuit for DD, a scone for me and some butter, that little shop came to £15.86.

    Terrible eh?

Doing big Tesco shop tomorrow, so should stock up everything I need for the month except fruit, milk etc.

Going away for a week to my Mum's on the 11th, so she'll be feeding us - can use the money saved for spending. DDs 3rd birthday while we are there so party food and cake will be made by DM.

Good luck to everyone - hope you're doing better than me!

Right am back in this month. We have now moved and settled in. We are now near the town centre (for what it is) which means Somerfield is a few mins walk away. I have noticed the prices over their are quiet high. The girls like herta sausages but a pack of ten is 50p more expensive over there than Tesco. The grape, apple and pear juice they like is 30p more per carton. So am gonna limit the amount of trips over there as all those p's will soon mount up to ££££s.

Am gonna do a weekly (10 day) shop from Tesco on-line and see how it goes this month.

Our budgetted amount is £350 per month for DH, Me, and littles (DDs 4 & 3). I am aiming to knock £20 off this this month. Have aimed for £50 before and it got to a struggle towards the end so gonna take a step back and try slowly.

Need to do meal plan up again think I will do 10 days worth rather than the months I used to do.

    Month will start 1st July.

    Good luck everyone x

 Gggaaahhh! I'm dead cross with myself... a couple of things on my list were a wee bit cheaper than mysupermarket.com had predicted, so I decided to risk throwing in some supplements whilst they are on BOGOF as they were only £1.59.

I went over budget by nine pence. Grrrr. It was a 'technical' over spend as I had £10.50 worth of MOCs and I actually finished £10.41 under budget. But still... it's made me ever so narked with myself.

Let that be a lesson to me never to deviate from The List :o

Hands up if you think I'm taking this a bit too seriously... ;)

I started on 22nd June (payday), with a budget of £50 for just little me, and a new strategy to do a bulk shop as much as possible then top up with fresh stuff by the week. One week in and I've already spent half my budget, big shop was £20 then I had a bit of a splurge on cake and wine this week :o I may be being overambitious trying to do the next three weeks on £24 (no vouchers to help me out this month) but I'll give it a go. Won't be buying much this week, so maybe I'll be OK...

If nothing else I have a 3kg bag of pasta so I'm not going to starve!!

£10.50 worth of vouchers! where do you find these elusive things? I found a 25p off something in my closer mag the other day that I thought I'd try but have no idea where to get any others from. In the old days used to get them through the door but not anymore.
I check the free things threads but they tend to be all samples.

I'm in. I always seem to go over budget. :o

Goal is £200 but realistically I'll be happy to keep under £240. That's for all household shopping, cleaning stuff etc.
