    So far spent £110.02 - finish 27th July - Budget £265

OH announced yesterday that he liked Birds Eye Boil-in-the-bag beef, I doubts its very healthy but we did have it with our home grown broad beans and carrots, so that made it alittle bit better.

So £3.50 spend on packet of this and potatoes to go with it.

I was really good and didn't look at anything else in the shop

    £113.52
  • I found some spaghetti and some spaghetti sauce in my cupboard. Also, my son had bought some hash browns for Sunday breakfast, but also bought a breakfast pack, he couldn't eat the pack and the hashbrowns so those with corned beef I had bought for a lunch will make a grocery challenge answer. I went in to Morrisons and said I normally spend £40, today I would spend £36. I spent £29:j :money:

Had first delivery of the month - £44.38!

Sounds really impressive when we usually spend a min of £70 - but we didn't buy any meat as we are using up all the meat in the freezer this week.
Also my parents are kind of helping me out because if there are any BOGOFs or 2 for £2 etc they are going halves with me. :)

  • I want to try and manage on £100 for July - It's just me and 2 DD's (17 and 9) and the freezer is reasonably full and the cupboards are bursting, but I don't have any fresh veg in other than potatoes and not much fruit. I have tried this before but always failed miserably, but this month I am determined not to overspend.

Hi... official numbers to post now rather than guesses...

Running total for 19th May - 18th June is £95.21. We have the staples in to cover us at least until 18th June, and enough dried milk. Did the last of the catfood tonight to last us til the 18th too so that's fine.

I'm sure we have enough meat, just hoping we'll be inspired enough to use the stuff up rather than buy new :o

Might need a top up of bread as I'm running a bit low in the freezer

I've so far spent £40.10 of the £50 budget, I was hoping to have enough to get a small takeaway meal for the 4 of us on Thursday, so we'll see. if not I should at least have enough to get a few bits in for a cheap dinner. It seems we have run out of Tea Bags again - we drink far too much, even so it is decaffeinated so it's not so bad I guess. It still costs money though! Also milk - we get through at least one 2 litre bottle a day, but although I have bought it all gradually over the past few days we still only have 2¼ bottles left :o - so I will probably have to buy more, specially as Wednesday is Macaroni Cheese and salad day!

Hi y'all. Have just done my first big shop of the month. Had a £20 off if spent £150 so I thought, why not! Total came to £164 including the discount, but there were lots of special offers and BOGOF's. Not sure if we'll be able to store it all as we've only got a small fridge and freezer, but I guess we'll manage somehow. Needs must until the devil drives!

Gone back to bags, haven't had the guts to email Mr T and complain yet but am working myself up to it. :o

    Love to you all.
  • Morning everyone, it's SUNNY!!!

Nice work, everyone. You all seem to be very organised and on track for a great month :)

I'm hoping to do this, but with an 18 month old and a 5 month old, I haven't yet worked up the energy/courage to lug them both around two supermarkets... just going to Tesco feels like an achievement.

Does anyone know if Lidl has trollies that will accommodate an infant and a toddler at the same time? If they do, I might try and brave it next week. Maybe.

But it's Tesco for me later today - according to mysupermarket.com, I ought to be slightly under budget... we'll see!

Have a great day, everyone :T:T:T

Just me and the three mice as usual this month (although I will have another 20+ mice in just under 3 weeks  as my mice have mated) and I'm budgeting £40 again and I'm hoping I can do this. It includes my food, the mice food, sawdust for the mice, toiletries and the like. I'm not sure if I'll make it as the freezer and the fridge are starting to look bare :o oh well we'll see :rotfl:.

Wow, that's impressive, where do you shop? Last month was my cheapest in recent years and it was still over £40 for just me... and didn't include toiletries.

Need to get a few bits today - bananas, cheese and maybe some brown rice, hopefully only spending a couple of quid.
