Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week when it comes to housework, or just the motivation to do the dreaded housework tasks you have to do, come and join us, hopefully make it a little easier. You never know, you might start to enjoy it!

Thank you to Natty for last week's thread

THESE LISTS ARE ONLY SUGGESTIONS AND NOT A MUST DO LIST, YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO POST AND FOLLOW YOUR OWN.

There are 3 levels per day deepening on how much time you have. Feel free to mix and match to suit your own personal circumstances.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are any areas which if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines/todailies are anything you need to do today and every day stuff like laundry, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie/binbag dance - stick on some loud music, grab a binbag and whizz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
5GC five minutes gardening.. make it lovely for your family and enjoy it!

Any more questions I bet are answered in the wonderful welcome guide which was produced by our much loved Toots

*pretends has every intention of flying lots and lots*

seriously I will be flying this week, both at home (a bit) and at work (a lot) - this weeks 'drop in focus' is 'state of the room' so I have to be uber tidy.

Thanks for the new thread Dusty. I'm in,

I need to get up early as I've not done the uniforms. We went to a friends 40th on Saturday. It was at a lovely barn conversion. We were the sensible ones who retired to bed at 2.30am. The rest partied on until 5! My internal body clock woke me at 7 so I'm a bit tired!

My eBay sales have netted me a 3 figure sum and they haven't finished yet. I'm kicking myself for not getting on with it before. Procrastination is my middle name.
  • Thanks Dusty. I didnt manage to get the kitchen floor washed last week so thats a priority for tomorrow. Hopefully our hospital appointment in the morning wont take too long!
  • I'm in also :)

I aim to fly and DIY this week after the paid stuff. I need to crack on with it.

Mumto5 me and you must share the same middle name ;)

    Have a great week all

Flying resembles something more like flu in here :p

Front room is looking much better after DD2 and bf tidied it and I vacuumed it.. just need to clear through the toys... but no one will help me and I am too useless to do it by myself.

Thank you Dusty for this week's list and thank you Natty for last week's.

I shall definitely be flying around but will probably be doing my own thing most of the time. DH is getting his garage sorted and I shall then be able to concentrate on the remaining bits that I said I would do, but I also have a lot of paperwork to do at the start of the week and some computer work before the weekend. With only the two of us (and DH spending much of his time in the garage) the house generally stays quite clean, and I have gone about decluttering as much as I can as I have been setting up each room :D

One thing I simply must do this week is some clothes shopping: I only have 2 pairs of wearable trousers now - the others are dropping off my hips

2 more items have come off my personal toots list this evening - mending the back bedroom curtains (header tape needed stitching back in place) and my dressing gown (pocket stitching re-done). Each job took about 5 minutes once I actually started :o

Hope everyone gets some sunshine this week...
  • Hi Dusty - I am in - thanks for the thread and thank you Natty for last week's thread too.

Won't be doing the kitchen floor tomorrow as only got round to it on Friday last week!! I used to have a "round tuit" plate - no idea where that went to!!! :rotfl:
Perhaps I should start using "procrastination is the thief of time" in my signature as well as the rest.

Probably a bit off plan next week as struggling with my research and the paper frog - well that has been given a new and much smaller home -yay! - but the shredder is in "jammed up" mode again.

Glad it is the dining room as that is probably the worst in the house with papers all over. I did manage to clear and tidy the shelves in the cloakroom this weekend and unearth two old laptops for hard drive destructon/ binning.

    Bed calls - sleep tight.
