Daisie you're looking fab! And the washing basket is nothing, you want o see what I'm sitting in the middle of just now! What will eventually be baby's room and there's hardly a space on the floor whilst I sort out all the carp that's in it at the moment!
Vicious circle here, there's no space in the loft til I get baby stuff down and into the room that I'm trying to sort either to the bin or to another bedroom which has stuff that needs added to the pile that needs to go to the loft....and round and round we go! Feel like just getting a big skip and starting over again!
this is exactly what it's like at ours, have to clear space in other rooms to then move craft stuff across to then move baby stuff in, like one of those puzzle games where you move squares around to make a picture!

I keep thinking about getting a Doppler but won't even look at them, because if I do then I WILL get one, not discussed with OH. He would spend his entire time counting heartbeats to prove/disprove his assertion that little sausage is a girl.

I meant to say, we popped to Mothercare (live 5 mins from one - dangerous!) earlier to pick up some maternity clothes I had ordered online.

While we were there we ended up buying a breastpump! and some bottles, a steriliser and bottle warmer. We did not intend to do this but saw them on a good offer and hubby is very much wanting to buy things as we go along rather than buying everything all at once and having a big expensive month. I am a bit scared having bought more stuff before the scan on Tuesday but having had no more bleeding and heard the heartbeat I really, really hope things will be ok....

Anyway, I also picked up some maternity bras and hideously ugly maternity pants. Got to the till, holding ugly bras and pants and a huge breast pump box only to be greeted by...one of my Year 12 students!! :o she is very nice and was very professional but it was pretty embarrassing. I just hope she is mature enough that Miss's ridiculously huge bra size is not all around the class next week :o:o:o must remember to avoid going there at the weekend if I need to make embarrassing purchases - just so glad I hadn't picked up the nipple cream we were looking at!

I picked up a microwave steriliser from there too. The electric breast pump was a very good price too but I did not want to buy it in case breast feeding does not work out for me.

Ah didn't realise Gran Canaria wasn't in the EU

daisiegg that is a lovely bump!

No unfortunately not, even though they use the Euro and are considered Spanish, the Canary Islands aren't part of the EU, unless that's changed since the last time I was there but don't think so.

I picked up a couple of bits and bobs from the Asda even, just a couple of cellular blankets which were £2.50, would have picked up some fitted sheets but they didn't have any cot bed ones. also picked up some dribble bibs and scratch mits oh and some nappies and wipes. OH picked up a set of little rubber ducks (practical is not always his middle name bless him :) )

Well room 1 is complete. We went and picked up a single bed that I had found on one of the sale sites on Facebook, a whole £30 for a divan with sliding storage, mattress and headboard too. And the best thing is there's not a mark on it. I'm getting good at this bargain hunting thing again!

Wee room is nearly empty now, I haven't told DH yet that the chests of drawers in there are going and we're getting new ones! Well, maybe second hand, I don't care! The ones there are second hand from a friend and they've certainly had better days. Won't be spending a lot again as if baby is anything like its siblings it won't be worth it! DHs ex wife used to buy the best of everything whether they could afford it or not and she didn't care if they looked after it or not. Now with me they have to make do and they get rewarded with better things if they take care of the things they have.
