Hope everyones having a good day?

After quite a few weeks of feeling rubbish, I just wanted to share my good day with you hope nobody minds my moment of selfishness!

Today I've been to a productive session of CBT, OH has got an interview for a teacher training course, he's been asked to stay on at his temping job for another month, I've met with my mentor so feel more organised in respect of my own uni work, I've finally found somewhere that stocked the first Emma's diary pack, I've picked up my Bounty pack AND I've had an email saying I've won tickets to Manchester Baby and Toddler Show via the powers of Facebook!

Both the Bounty and Emma's Diary packs are well worth picking up, I'm loving all the freebies us pregnant women can get!

3 days until my rescan... my OH can't make it so I invited my mum, that's put me in her good books too!!

  • Thanks sunshine
I had never heard of Emma's diary!
    Any more?! Lol!!
  • that sounds like a positive day sunshine :) good to hear you're feeling better. iv got tickets to that show too, is it at event city in March? I bought mine off groupon though, would have liked to win them! :D

iv had a bit of a teary day today but almost definitely been caused by only 2 hours sleep after my night shifts. went looking for maternity black pants for work earlier in peacocks but they were weird sizes. annoying because I think I'll have to order some online but I wanted to try on before I did.

Definitely check it out credit_crunch! You just go to http://www.emmasdiary.co.uk/ and click the link half way down the page for gift pack vouchers. I finally got mine from Argos (tried 3 Boots and none had it in!) and it had 4 Aldi nappies, stretch mark cream, a small pack of cereal (2 bowls worth), a full pack of Johnsons wipes and small bottles of nappy rash cream, baby oil and baby bath.

My Bounty one I got from asda and it had a Persil branded hooded towel, some fairy washing powder, a dishwasher tablet, some dettol multipurpose wipes, a sachet of Ovaltine, 2 george newborn hats, a little pot of sudocrem, a weeks worth of pregnacare, and mini bottes of baby bath, stretchmark cream and antibac gel. Oh and plenty of discount vouchers.

    Very MSE! :money:

Yes! It's all because I follow Jeremy Kyle on Facebook (I'm not ashamed to admit!), there was a suggested page which was Dr Arun Ghosh (the doctor they have on the show) and he said he was going to be promoting some product of his at the show and if you fancied going email him, so I did and today got an email saying I was getting two free tickets! Aww might see you there, don't know what day I'm going though I'll see when OH is free. As sad as it is I'm most excited that a bra company that does big sizes will be there, hopefully I'll get some good maternity and nursing bras, most high street stores just don't cut it when it comes to HH cups!

Aww hope you get a better nights sleep tonight, I'm lucky in that I don't have to do nights while I'm pregnant. Some of the other support workers keep telling me I should have to do them, other pregnant women have, but I don't want to and my boss says I don't have to! So I feel for you I really do xxx

What a nice day Sunshine :j

Good to know the freebies are worth getting. Great that you got tickets to the Manchester baby show! I applied for a few free ones for London after seeing links on the comps board but no joy so far. I have heard you can get good discounts there, I hope you get some fab bras at a great price.

I got two huge bags of newborn and 0-3 baby clothes from a friend last night, plus some more maternity clothes. What a star :) One more tick on the to-buy list and no money spent. We are saving up for a new bathroom as ours is flaky, leaking and impractical so every little helps.

((((Hugs fiery)))) night shifts suck. I hope you get some good sleep tonight, it's the first thing that sends me over the edge. Although to be honest I'm getting a lot of mood swings lately anyway - feeling much more cross, and down-in-the-dumps than usual. Anyone else? Trying to resist sugar cravings is not really helping matters. Neither is having to do all the housework atm because I am not working and DH has got a lot of long hours. If only a giant glass of red wine was allowed <need red wine guzzling smiley>

well I used to do them 3 in a row but I was too tired so now I just do 2, I think I'll ask to stop them in a couple of months, I found last night so uncomfortable! I'm a support worker too :)

the reason for 2 hours sleep was because I had to go to my mums this morning and wait in for our nursery furniture to be delivered which is quite exciting! but it's all just in flat pack boxes and will be for a while ha.

I'm not sure what day I'm going to go either, or even
who's coming with me :D I'm hoping there are some good offers, iv been to 2 wedding shows at event city with my friend and they were a bit disappointing so I'm hoping this baby one is better!

aw thanks Lara. iv also had massive sugar cravings iv eaten so much chocolate recently it's ridiculous, I'm going to end up humungous! it's so hard to resist though, I feel like I need it to get me through the day.

    Hi ladies,

I am holding off on getting any freebies/baby stuff until after 20 weeks! Got a house full of stuff and junk that needs clearing!

Is anyone elses midwife useless???? Hate it when people don't ring when they say will and mine was supposed to ring me today as I am awaiting more blood test results due to a possible antibody issue and nope no phone call!

I have had issues from day one with getting hold of midwife/getting appt/blood tests....its all a pain to be honest, I can only go to one doctors surgery where I live and they are useless! Really hope we move before baby arrives! :o
Now a SAHM trying to earn some spare pennies each month
  • Hi Ladies,

It's been quiet here for a couple of days - I hope that's because things are all going swimmingly.

I'm also holding off on getting baby-related things until after the 20-week scan. The only exception so far has been a few maternity clothes, and I only gave in to those because it was getting pretty desperate! I haven't even picked up bounty (or any other) packs so far...

Does everyone else have "a" midwife? I mean a specific person to call with problems/questions? I don't - I don't even really seem to have any contact number at all except for the EPU (which seems a bit drastic unless it's an emergency...) and the "appointments" line. I'm new to all this so would feel reassured if I had a phone number. I might not even use it - but would be nice to know it was there if I needed it.

AFM - more pelvic/tummy pain today and my wee is rather cloudy. This isn't unusual for me, but I can't help but worry. No movement yet either - boo! Positive mental attitude only gets you so far...

Hope you've all weathered the storm and are getting some sunshine before the next lot of wind/rain.

Hi bumblebee, no I know my midwife's name but she said it isn't their policy to give out mobile numbers so I have the same numbers as you, not a direct line to her. It does feel weird though! X
