I am not sure when I am finishing work yet, prob by mid July, was going to go until beginning of August but think that might be pushing myself a bit.

All depends on how work let me take my holidays though.

Yes I'm hoping to go mid July too but my holiday year starts again in June and I'm hoping my boss will let me use two weeks in the June and July before I go.
  • I can't stop burping! It was funny at first but is getting silly now! But at least the burping is better than the tummy ache u had before the burping started!

I had this! it's better now, but from like 12-16 weeks I constantly burped, I would turn over in bed at night and burp for a good 5 minutes haha, attractive!

    20+4 :)
  • How on earth did I get to number 2 on the list! The last 8 weeks or so have gone crazy fast!

Baby is certainly a wriggler, at the weekend we could actually see my stomach moving when baby kicked and flipped around :) I didn't really think that would be happening at 21 weeks but it is so nice for OH to see and feel!

I am planning on finishing at the end of May - 37 weeks, I work 5 minutes from home doing a desk job so hopefully I will be ok!

  • I've got an appointment at the consultants in a while. I just spent 45mins trying to talk to the reception to check I am seeing the consultant and not the trainee (unlike last tine, which I will not repeat).
At one point I got transferred to the women's clinic at John Radcliffe... In Oxfordshire! That's 2 counties away!! Useless switchboard!
I just thanked the john Radcliffe nurse, explained briefly I was being given the run a round and thanked her hospital for mending my dad :)

I did eventually get through to be told they don't even know whose in attendance until they turn up! So I'm not 100% calm before even getting there. Oh well. I'll go walk the dog and cross my fingers. And do my breathing exercises!

  • Hi all,

Hope you're all doing well - good luck with the appointment today Robots.

AFM, been having quite a lot of pain over the last few days. Pain in my tummy and pelvis which makes me worried my kidney/bladder condition is misbehaving - which of course has me worried. But not much I can really do other than drink enough, keep taking the medication from the urologist, and go and see him for my next appointment (early March).

We told some of OH's work friends I'm pregnant at the weekend. One of his colleagues had announced she was pregnant a few weeks ago, and from OH talking to her he worked out that she was due only a couple of days from when we were. So we had them round for dinner and told them then. It's also her first pregnancy, so it's nice to compare notes and such so we have slightly more idea about what's going on!

And yesterday I bit the bullet and bought some maternity clothes. Just a couple of bits and bobs - a top, some tights, and some jeans. I tried on jeans in H&M and Mama&Papas and was very disappointed! It seemed to me that all maternity jeans manufacturers think pregnant ladies have legs like a baby giraffe's! Even those that weren't "skinny" jeans had no hope of going round my legs. I'm not massive - usually a 12/14, but have some thigh muscle! Anyway, eventually found some nice bootcut over-the-bump maternity jeans in New Look that fit well and OH didn't even notice they were maternity jeans until I told him. Jeans were only £10 (about a third of what H&M and M&P were asking). I don't normally go in New Look and don't know why I did this time, but glad I did, and if anyone else in the market for maternity jeans then it might be worth taking a look?

Skyped my parents last night so they could see my bump - which was nice - haven't seen them since Christmas (they live hundreds of miles from us) and they liked seeing it.

Very much trying to keep pregnancy a secret from most people at least until the 20 week scan (because we know it's risky), but it's a bit of a losing battle! And this weekend I really feel like I've actually acknowledged the pregnancy myself, almost for the first time. I really wanted not to buy maternity clothes yet in case it all goes wrong, but doing so really made it feel like it might be real. Which is a really nice feeling (as long as the little bean is sticky!).

Anyway, I'd best leave it here as this is my lunch break (ha ha - does anyone really get those - I don't!) and need to get back to work.

Hope you're all doing well today, ladies!

  • Good luck for your appointment today Robots, I hope you actually get to see the consultant this time.

Hugs Bumblebee sorry you're in pain and I hope it's nothing too serious. I have the same problem with maternity jeans. Well, jeans in general but there's even less choice now! I also got new look boot cut over my thighs but I struggled with their skinnies. I got some next ones from fleabay but they're a bit too snug in the leg too.
  • Evening ladies, I hope everyone is doing ok?

I had my first consultant appointment today, which was interesting.
He wasn't in the least bit interested in my sickness only what meds I'm on, he just told me to keep seeing the doctor about my sickness. I suppose he hears it everyday! He did suggest I try eating yogurt which I can't stand the smell of and there's no way I'm eating dairy while I'm vomiting (why would you!!)

Anyway he confirmed all my 4 weekly appointments and said that I won't be allowed to go past 37 weeks, and to book my c section at my 28 week appointment. He kept saying that I should remember that a twin pregnancy is more risky than normal which made me more worried that I already am, and there I was thinking that I'd come away feeling reassured. Still I have the midwife in 2 weeks so hopefully she will make me feel less anxious.

I've lost so much weight my belly has shrunk but when I'm laying down there is definitely a bump forming :)

Anyway sorry for rambling on, I hope your all having a good evening.

  • Seem to be plagued by a vicious hungry/indigestion/nausea cycle at the moment :( Is especially bad tonight, beginning to think I may have to start keeping clear of spicier foods!
