Ladies I need a bit of advice, going to see a second hand pushchair tomorrow and it looks quite old, as in a model which could be 6 years ago though I am going to try and ask when they bought it. Would this stop you buying it? Am trying to be money saving but then think am I taking it too far. Thanks0

Thought I'd put this here in case anyone is looking at buying baby stuff soon:
Kiddicare has been sold by morrisons and is turning to an online only retailer. I've just been to our local kiddicare and these are the markdowns I wrote down...Everything in store only (not online) reduced by 10%-50% depending on what it is. However the online prices are what the store prices are marked down from so you can calculate the in store price using the discounts below.
all baby clothes 50% off.
Car seats and bases 25% off.
Mattresses 25% off.
Bedding sets 20% off.
Furniture 15% off.
10% off food (not including formula)
20% off highchairs
25% off toys (saw jumparoo for £55)
15% off prams
20% off baby care
between 25-50% off maternity clothes
10% off nappies.
This is in all Kiddicare stores except Peterborough and you can use the bump and babies vouchers at the till in addition to the storewide discounts.
Obviously may still work out cheaper to buy secondhand but worth going on their website and seeing if you'd be happy paying the online price minus the in store discount for something new.
Tia- I think a 6 year old pushchair would put me off. Car seats are recommended to be changed after accidents/ 5 years as the materials degrade so in my mind the same logic would apply to prams and their parts. The cheapest pram with car seat that I saw today was about £60 new- it was a joie aire, suitable from birth, had a play with it and it seemed pretty sturdy, lightweight and easy to use-as a disclaimer I like this brand as I bought a joie travel system.

Argh we had planned to go kiddicare in a couple of weeks as its 2 hours away (Bristol). Thanks for the heads up teaandcakeordeath, any idea when stores are closing?
I am looking at buying the joie aire (we were going to get this in a couple of weeks) but it doesn't have a carrycot and didn't think it would be warm enough for a winter baby, so my intention is to use the second hand one for carrycot only during first 6 months. Sounds crazy but I need a small folding pushchair and this is one on the list. Will see what it looks like and how old it looks0 -
I don't know how long the stores will remain open. According to a telegraph article the kiddicare business was only sold on 14th July. I was there last weekend on 19th and there were no clearance signs then. I found out about it through a local fb bumps and babies page today. I can't see them closing within the next two weeks but I couldn't see any info at all on when the stores where closing. Sorry can't help anymore than that! Maybe ring your nearest store and ask?0

Kiddicare is great only used online and had some great bargains. The delivery is quick n customer service excellent.
Shame stores are closing one in east Midlands hasn't been open that long0 -
I popped in to our kiddicare today and it was really busy only about 50%of usual stock levels but some great bargains. Change mats reduced to £3.99, baby change bag reduced from £69 to £15, jumperoo was £60, clothes between 20 and 50% off, potty's 20% off lots of bargains to be had but I don't think our branch will last much longer than next weekend, such a shame so many people will lose their jobs.Planning to be debt free by 11/20. Freebie you certainly hunt down the bargains
Lotti did you buy anything? Am really hoping the Bristol one lasts 2 more weeks for me to visit
We bought the second hand pushchair, it is a bit worn and needs a good clean but think it will serve the purpose of use for the carry cot.
Teaandcakeordeath not sure how often you lurk but just wondered which joie system you bought and whether the seat can be forward and rear facing?
Any one else's parents beginning to get on their nerves yet? My mum has kindly offered to look after our baby once born and keeps mentioning it. I am already dreading the thought if not being able to stay home full time with my child and also as my mum doesn't drive I would need to take baby to her, making my journey to work longer. I know she is excited herself to look after the grandchild but wish she would stop mentioning it.
Any one got any ideas for jobs you can do at home?0
