TIA don't worry yourself over where the baby is sleeping as everyone's different. We're going to be having her in with us but we have quite a bit of space in our bedroom and also cos I think the baby's room won't actually be emptied and ready for her to go in it lol. A lady I work with put both of her kids into their own room straight away and keeps telling me I'll regret having her in the same room.
If you are concerned it might be worth investing in one of the Angelcare Monitors that have a sensor pad that goes under the mattress just for extra piece of mind.
AFM feeling drained today, had a couple of bad nights sleep then a late one last night although slept straight through so am more tired than usual. We're meant to be sorting out the kitchen cupboards today, we've managed one and think that's all we'll get round to. How are we meant to sort out a half filled spare room to turn into a nursery when I can't even clean out more than one cupboard.... Wish I could just hire someone to do it for me and then we wouldn't have to worry about it and could relax for the next 19ish weeks.
Couldn't resist a de-lurk! We are having mini me in our room assuming he will take to a moses basket. We also have an angelcare sensor pad baby monitor from ebay in case that doesn't work and for when he moves.
:rotfl: about your cupboards alioops - but only because on the table in kitchen there is not a single spare space with all the stuff i've got out of cupboards to organise last night only to be too exhausted to have done any of it yet! I feel your pain...am also waking at 6.30am every morning which is not awful but not too great either.

Sneaky, I was thinking of doing that but won't the vouchers have same name and address and be queried by the company or did you sign up with other details? Am such a goody goody!
Well no one in the stores was any wiser, and what can they do?
I was pleased with the freebies and it's not like it cost them anything.
I'm sure I'm not the first! Xx0 -

Visited the largest showroom of prams (etc) yesterday... my what a choice, never knew there was so much to it! Think we have decided on an Uppababy vista, and are going to see if John Lewis will price match (to get the great JL service and 3-5 year warranty). Head was spinning yesterday, all these things that never even come into your mind before now.
I'm still not really feeling any movement, not that I'm really aware of anyway. I'm only just 21+1 so still time I guess...insert trying not to worry too much here, it's crazy eh!
Went to Debenhams as they were having a pretty big sale and managed to pick up a few cute and very soft vests for the wee one. I'm not going to buy any more clothes, have enough for the first wee while and I know clothes are pretty much the first gifts people will give you, but I did need vests. It's so hard to resist!
Find myself waking up on my back or right side and panicking a bit... I know it doesn't matter too much, you can't control which way you turn when you're asleep, again things that you never even considered before pregnant.
How is everyone doing today?0 -
My sister in law has an Uppababy Vista and really likes it. My eyes would have watered at spending that much though :rotfl: I've had cars that cost less!! If I had more money to spare I'd have liked one.
We have a second hand Cosatto Giggle in the Sunny pattern, I know there have been lots of problems with them but ours is a recent batch that isn't affected (I checked) and apparently the issues were fixed by the time this was made. It was in fabulous condition and I only paid £65 and absolutely love it. We need to get a car seat and I'm undecided whether to get the Cosatto one to match which will fit on the travel system but isn't Isofix compatible and would have to be strapped into the car, or a Maxi Cosi or Britax one with an Isofix base but then I couldn't use that on the travel system. Going to try the Cosatto one in the car to see how easy it is to strap in.
This is the one we have - I think it's nice for a boy or girl which is great as we're staying Team Yellow
I'm going to a workshop today for making little baby shoes - These. They are so cuteI know they're totally unnecessary but I couldn't resist.
19+6 today, can't believe tomorrow we will be halfway there. I seem to have gone almost overnight from no movement (anterior placenta) to a very wriggly baby, especially in the evenings.
PS View - I have been trying and failing to train myself to sleep on my left side. I just can't do it, I have always slept on my right or on my back. I'm not fretting about it too much.0 -
Monty think I will perhaps print the vouchers again!!
Ali thanks for reassurance, as freebie has put though there is a higher risk of SIDS so now thinking about whether a crib would be any better as I don't like the Moses baskets. Does anyone know about using a carrycot for the first 6 months instead? It was a long time ago but my mum says they simply used that and bought a stand before moving us into a cot. Recent articles suggest not to do this though.
Ali hope sorting the cupboards is going OK and you got a better nights sleep.
Freebie each of the Emma's diary packs I collected had aldi nappies in them.
View the pushchair is my crisis of the day. After realising the bedroom is unsuitable for a cot yesterday, have now realised my car is not pushchair friendly. Anyone know of any small travel systems that are reasonably priced? I have a picanto and the boot is tiny. Was originally looking at joie aire as it was cheap and cheerful but not sure how small it folds down.
Just googled the uppababy as never heard of it before looks like it has good reviews.
As for sleeping I tend to sleep on my front, imagine at some point this will not be possible and trying to get used to sleeping on my side but seem to roll onto my front anyway.
Angel hope the shoe making goes well0 -
Thanks tia going to print another first pk one as seems to let u.
Tia in terms of carrycot yes if it's a proper carrycot with a matress. We use a crib rather than Moses basket as lasts longer.0 -
My OH really liked the Costatto however I read all the bad reviews online whilst we were in the shop and that really scared us off so we wandered off to look at others. However, if there are no problems with yours and yours is 2nd loved then you most likely won't have any probs either, it's been tried and tested!
We're very lucky OH's dad is going to help us towards the uppababy vista. It's got a really great mattress that is suitable for baby's spine so can be used for proper sleeps. Comes with adaptors also. We wouldn't normally spend over £500 however a lot of the other items we're receiving are from friends and family so I'm comfortable with that in myself. A friend is gifting us her car seat that fits in also so hopefully will be all set...0 -
*delurking* Angel- have you considered buying a stay in the car seat that belts in and just putting baby in pram lying flat? There are a lot of car seats now that last for up to 7 years (up to 4 rear facing) so it might be more economical (not sure if money no object so apologies) getting one of those rather than a seat they can only stay in until 9kg and also only recommended for less than 2 hours at a time? If my pram hadn't have come with the seat that's what i'd be doing-mainly because we're skint but also because want baby rear facing for as long as possible.
Tia- my joie chrome fits into a clio (3 door model from 2004) boot. If you go to the shops they will usually let you try the models in your car.Re. Carry cots- i asked in mc whether it could replace need for moses basket. Manager said they couldn't recommend that as they're designed to be weather proof- not breathable. This is my first so not sure of the advice tbh but ended up buying a 2nd hand basket and new matress for £15 just for my own peace of mind.
View- I still wake on my back at 30+1. Asked mil (mw) about it and she said eventually it will be very hard to do and body won't let me lie that way. She also said right side fine (hate sleeping on left and having oh breathing at me!) and that you only need to elevate hip a couple of inches. I've stuck a pillow under sheet on left side that I either curl around on right side or lie on back with it under my right hip.
