my hubby will be 49 shortly after baby is born, so is definitely an older dad, and he will be a sahd. I keep telling him he needs to start getting fitter so that he can chase around after the munchkin. Trying to get him starting his keep fit regime with putting up the bloomin side garden fences but it's not going well, have a sneaky suspicion I will just give in and pay someone to do it.0

Oh Lemon Tree that makes me feel better as I think my hubby feels ancient! Doesn't help that he already has an (almost) grown up daughter (she was a surprise when he was in his very early twenties!) so I think that makes him feel even older. I keep telling him that forties is not that old to have babies these days.0

Right we are such chatty Cathys I am not sure I can remember everything I wanted to reply but here goes...
Yes we are already thinking about number 2 as we are aware that while TTC went smoothly ths time there is no guarentee it will the second time - know a number of people for whom number 2 has not gone as easily as number 1 so if there are going to be problems we have more time to do something about it. For example my mother had 6 miscarriages between myself and my brother so there are 6 years between us. She was 25 when she had me so was not age related.
We know it's not really down to us or our choice whether we get the number 2 that we want but up to mother nature and luck. I am intrigued to see whether we'll change our minds when it comes to it and when we'll feel ready. We would be doing exceptionally well to get the next out before I'm 36.Met DH to be 2010

I currently use Bio Oil.
When that's done we bought some Re-Gen Oil from Aldi.
My friend bought me some items from Bloom and Blossom. One is anti-stretch mark cream and the other stuff you put in the bath. it's like a sheep dip of bio oil but actually doesn't leave me feeling greasy but moisturised.
Hmmm, should be bathing after going swimming. Just a shame the weather was nice as not the time to bath!Met DH to be 2010

Lixi thanks for sharing your breastfeeding/expressing experiences, it is really interesting to read
I think the main message I get is...don't have too many (or any !) expectations and be prepared to take things as they come?
Confirms my suspicion that baby is in the driving seat.
Thanks Lixi!Met DH to be 2010

My lord - I can't even recall the last time I wore make up. Probably Christmas. Not something I wear every day anyway and feeling rotten during pg I was even less interested.
Sounds truely terrifying in Liverpool!
I do feel like an old mum at 34 but not meeting DH till 30 restricted my options plus I'd convinced myself it was never going to happen as I was too hopeless at relationships! Therefore all come as a lovely suprise. To my family too who had silently given up on me which I found when I announced our pg and everyone burst into tears and said they thought they'd never be a great grandma/grandma etc. Was very sweet actually as other than my mother suggesting I freeze my eggs at 32 there was no pressure to get going despite being the oldest by 6 years in my generation.Met DH to be 2010

Me too
I forgot to say last night, I'm convinced I'm having a girl but I think that's because I really want one. I'm scared of feeling disappointed if it's a boy. I know that sounds stupid but everyone says you will be happy either way. Anyone else feel like this?

BTW someone metioned eating falafel regularly as a possible odd craving.
I haven't had cravings per se but in early days I couldn't look or even say hummus as made me feel sick. Eased off now! Bizarrely have also gone off chicken and eggs recently. Not to point of nausea just don't fancy. Leaves my protein options restricted as I only like lamb and beef rare (not an option), I don't like pork (other than bacon) so am eating a fair amount of fish. However don't seem to enjoy that as much as before. The only thing I really enjoy is shellfish. Am I carrying an expensive child!?Met DH to be 2010
