angeltreats - huge, huge congratulations and hope it all goes smoothly. Don't worry at all about the folic acid and cocktails. Most women who conceive don't start taking folic acid till they find out they're pregnant. And a few years ago a friend of mine found out she was pg just after Christmas. She'd drunk everything in sight over Christmas with no idea she was knocked up, and baby turned out just fine. :D We forget what it's like for all those lucky ones who just fall pg without much thought going into it.

You've given me hope as I'm still desperately hoping we'll conceive before I start IVF in the summer!

Huge dodgy hugs :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: to everyone feeling rubbish at the moment. I was there earlier in the week and I'm having better days now. We know it's a rollercoaster and wishing you all easier days very soon. xx
  • Wonder_Woman and Love - yep, CD21 was yesterday so I'm back on the DR Buserelin sniffer again. This time round, my Gonal-F is going on holiday with me to North Wales over Easter! :D
Fingers crossed WW your scan today is not as bad as you think xx

Thanks Isla - there's a right crop of us going through treatment at the moment, here's hoping it's the one for all of us! xx

Hugs chocoholic - I think it's the waiting that's the worst part xx

Love - 2 fertilised is good! As everyone has said, it does only take one. Hope today's phone call is good news as well xx

Chickpea - that's great news! Hope this is the really sticky one for you ;) xx

Angeltreats - congratulations! Don't worry about the folic acid, I know it's been said before but thousands of people don't start taking it until they find out maybe at 6-8 weeks (or even later). One of my friends didn't know she was pregnant until she was in labour (she was quite a big girl anyway and had always had irregular periods so didn't think anything of it) - she carried on drinking and doing all the usual things althroughout and the baby was perfectly healthy and a good weight.
    {and is it really sad that a little part of my brain secretly hopes that could be me? :o }

Anyway, big Friday hugs to everyone xxx

While I wait for star to return with her picture! I'll post today's update.
4dp3dt and who knows what's going on.
I am sleeping ok considering, all I can do is wait and I know nothing will change things now!!
Return to the clinic today for my next intralipids drip, have to have them fortnightly so hope I have need to return in a fortnight for my next one also!!
Had a long awaited tax issue sorted out last week ( ongoing for two years ) which basically means I have enough 'spare' money in the bank now to do all this again should it be needed. Contingency plans are important, right?!!
Now Star, where have you got to?

Quick question for all you sniffers... How did you get to sniff?!

First IVF appt with consultant on Wednesday - she said that all the drugs throughout the whole long protocol are jabs. :(

Got an appt with the nurse this afternoon to go through drugs and dates in detail. I might ask why I can't have sniffy drugs instead...

Glad you've got the cash stashed Lisa - hoping you can spend it on something else though, like a diamond-encrusted pram!!!

Angeltreats - miracles have been known to happen, usually when you least expect them too. Don't worry about the vits - in an ideal world you'd have been taking them, but in the real world, women have had healthy babies for generations without taking supplements, and the likelihood is all will be AOK with yours. Congratulations x

PM and Onestep - sorry you're both feeling gloomy. Have a nice chilled weekend. And maybe some chilled wine..xx

Onestep - I can't remember your age, sorry - are you late 30s? There is still hope isn't there - you were in the 'unexplained' camp IIRC. Very hard to commit to adoption while you're still hoping to conceive.

Well done on the weightloss, that's great - (I've gone in the opposite direction with all the comfort eating post multiple mc's)..

Sorry if this seems like preachy or lecturing, but do you eat a lot of protein? I mean - a 'lot'?! I do believe it is eating a ton of protein in the last year that is what made my eggs suddenly 'fertilisable' after 4 years of zilch.

Things like eggs/bacon for breakfast, smoked salmon and yoghurt for lunch, snacked on crab sticks and cold meat and ate meat (steak, chicken, salmon) with green vegetables for dinner and more yoghurt for dessert. V. boring, but if you don't already eat a protein-heavy diet, it might be worth just subtly upping it. Sorry if you've been down this route before...Oh and I've been taking the usual supplements (micronised DHEA, coenzyme Q10, high dose folic acid, low dose aspirin, fertility multivits, inositol, gaifenesin c. OV).

Cost a fortune, but you just through everything at it sometimes.

I hope there's still a miracle waiting for you - and that losing weight might expedite it..

    xx
