Oh my goodness Pink that's excellent advice. None of the women at our clinic had figured that one out. In the waiting room we were all sat with our OHs telling us to drink more, them there was a gaggle of us sneaking into the loo to do tiny wees to relieve the pain!

I might pass it on to our clinic :D

AFM, just got a call to say our third embie caught up so they froze two blastos yesterday. On with the wait!!

PS I have been doing the IVF relaxation cd and it's great. It sent OH fast asleep yesterday but I love it :D

    Thanks:)

I tried to eat high protein in the run up to EC. An example day would be:

One egg scrambled with spinach, 2 oatcakes, 1/2 an avocado mashed with mixed seeds, 3 mint tea.

Mixed nuts and dried fruit for snacks (turns out I really.like there! )

Mixed salads (supermarket ones), usually with beans, couscous, lentils etc as well as spinach and salad veggies. Fruit.

Meat or fish grilled or baked or casseroled, often with lentils, sweet potato mash and veggies. Fruit or yoghurt.

Chocolate. I can't go without chocolate.

After EC/ET our clinic simply advises a healthy balanced diet with plenty of protein and fibre. I'm still allowing myself the chocolate ;)

  • skaps - glad EC went well and that's a pretty good fertilisation rate, good luck for your ET :) xx

floaty - that's excellent news about the frosties! (although you won't need them for a year or two ;) )
re: the full bladder thing, my clinic must be an odd one as they ask you not to drink anything beforehand! They don't do it by ultrasound though, instead they scan you during EC and then the ET is all done by measurements. xx

emmaj30 - good luck for your ET :) xx

vesper - huge hugs, it must be incredibly frustrating having the OH away xx

The bit about it taking 30-45 mins for water to reach your bladder has been told to me by a nurse as well (so not just randoms on the interwebs). Before we had IVF I had to have another bladder-full scan. Absent mindedly peed 15 mins beforehand!!! Frantically drank and when I got in the nurse said I needn't have bothered as it was too late by that point, d'oh.

Stopping drinking once you've drunk what you need to helps psychologically with not thinking about peeing, I found. :)

  • Hi everyone, wonderd if anyone could help with progesterone tests.
We have been ttc for about 16 months now and have gone to the doctor to start the ball rolling. have done the 3 day and 21 day bloods. The 21 progesterone comeback negative as I had a long cycle that month and so had my period about 13 days after the test rather than 7. So 2 cycles later am doing it again. Decided to get the ovulation tests so I could make sure I do the bloods at the right time. I tested positive on my 17th day (27th jan) should I do the test on Tuesday, 7days after, it would be easier for me to do it on wed but would that be too late.
Recently married and loving it x
