Where's fluffnutter? I've not seen her in ages.

Also, to spite DH and his not letting me have chips yesterday, today I've eaten a tube of Pringles and half a bar of galaxy caramel (a big one). Take that annoying husband.

Epic update coming up because I've been so self-absorbed this week in the run-up to EC. :)

    Scottie dog
    - How are you doing now? Hope you're OK and not having a belated reaction after our kicking you up the bum. :)

shrimpy - hope you hear on the referral front soon. :) The whole process is long and slow. Only advice I can give is to try to keep enjoying life in the meantime. We've been TTC for three years and just having our first round of IVF. You don't want to feel in limbo for that long. We're quite lucky as we have lots of non-child-friendly hobbies and go on distinctly non-child-friendly holidays, so we've been enjoying all of that while we still can. We'll give it all up in a heartbeat if mini teapots come along, but we've been able to put the TTC issue at least partly to the back of our minds during the lulls when not much is happening.

ThinkPink - good luck on Monday. If the appointment is just with your GP they may not know a huge amount TBH. Have you been referred on to a fertility consultant yet? I'd be pushing for that, as they're the one who'll give more detailed answers to the question you have, and you should be under the care of one. We went to our GP after TTC for a year. We didn't talk to them that much, they just sent us for blood and sample tests, then sent off a referral with the results and our next appt was the consultant. From then on, we kept seeing them and didn't go back to the GP...

code - I'm all for your hubby changing his diet, but that shouldn't mean you have to! A few years ago I lost a couple of stone, and since then I've had a few spells where I've dieted again because I've put a few pounds back on. We've still had junk in the house during that and I wouldn't dream of stopping hubby eating it. Similarly, he's gluten-free (coeliac disease) but doesn't mind that I eat all the things he can't in front of him.

pickle - hope sniffing is going OK and you're getting round the icky throat feeling. :)

Floaty - so glad the first IVF appt was positive and you're on the path. :) Congrats too on the weight loss - I know how hard it is! (nosing at your sig)

Slinky_Selina - I hope you can get some counselling. Can you push your GP for it? There are NHS mental health services but it's not always easy to get a referral - keep bugging your GP and find a sympathetic one at your surgery. The whole TTC process has a huge emotional impact and that should be better recognised by the medical community.

lauraw82 - it's a tough one with telling family. My mum knew before my in-laws (I'm naturally much closer to her). TBH though, if your other half wants to tell them and wants to be able to talk to them I'd go with it. That's what I did - I felt a bit guilty 'not letting' him tell them as it were. He told them when I wasn't there, so I wasn't part of the conversation, and I've hardly discussed it with them at all.

Wishing baby dust to all (and everyone else) and apologies for anyone whose updates I've missed. :o

Don't underestimate the effect of the drugs. I didn't realise quite how much DR affected me until I started stimming and felt like myself again. Take it one day at a time and if you feel out of sorts just take it easy. :) When's your baseline scan?

Pink teapot - great news on the eggs, hope you are managing to take it easy and aren't too uncomfortable. I am trying not to obsess too much over TTC but not always successfully!

DH got the results of his second sample on Thursday and his motility was low this time rather than borderline (20 something % down from 30%). Does anyone have any experience of improving this count? Off the top of my head I want to say Brazil nuts? And zinc? Will do some research but just wondering if anyone had anything tried and tested. The upside is that I had asked him to chase our referral up again and lo and behold our appointment came through the next day for 19th September. Really glad to have a date now.

Picklekin, sorry you're feeling rubbish. Do you have anything nice planned for this weekend?

From memory I think my scan is the 17th of September, I'm to tired to go get my phone to check :P I woke up at 3:30 worrying about mortgages and tile flooring choices... I thought it would be the IVF I worried about! I don't have anything great planned, I spent today painint my front door and cleaning the bathroom... Did sneak out for a Nandos though!

Shrimpy, make sure he gets some nice big pants too, if nothing else you can smile about how silly he looks!

  • Am fine thank you Shrimpy,
Have been waiting for AF so that I can make the call to the clinic. Ofc she showed up yesterday and not able to call until Monday. This means I will be given the pill to now to delay other 2 weeks.
Just hope it works at the end of the day.
Had bloods done 2 weeks ago to see why I bled early last time.
At a point now where I don't want to know a thing about other peoples babies etc

Big hugs gv. You'd think that the amount of money FS charge they'd be able to plan for people starting AF at the weekend.

Me and DH had a big fight yesterday when he let it slip that the no junk food rule was to stop me from eating bad stuff. I kind of figured that was the case when we started as DH is skinny (not from healthy eating or exercise I'd add). He said he's fed up of hearing me complain that I'm fat and then I eat crap, so in frustration I showed him my MFP app and how much food and exercise I eat and how I just cant lose weight on these meds (even worse, I'm being put on new ones that make people gain 40lbs).
