That's rubbish on both counts.
Does your GP not do any same-day appointments? What if someone wakes up and is really ill? With ours you can book an advance appt for 2-3 weeks time, but most appointments are given out on the morning, so you have to phone up and queue on the phone at 8am.0 -
You can't even technically pre-book at ours, you have to call at 8am then they give you an appt for a few weeks later. If you ask to pre-book they just tell you to call on the day... even though you both know if you call on the day there won't be any appts. Madness :rotfl:.0

And then they wonder why too many people go to A&E.
Remind me never to move from my current surgery! Whenever I've phoned at 8am, I've always been able to get a same-day appointment.0 -

Me too, although my GPs recently changed their phone system and its hard to get through now. I usually just dial and redial til I get through - like a total mental.
tea and good vibes, hope your AFs get back to normal asap.

Hi all,
Love that passage code
Well I am off for egg collection in the morning. What with my Father in Law passing and DH rental property being vandalised the TTC and IVF cycle has taken a major back seat, much to my dismay! I keep wanting to say "Helllloooo, everybody give me some attention, me... the punctured bloated hormonal mess in the corner" but that is just my selfish side talking... It's been an awful few weeks
I had a final baseline scan on Monday and the nurse spotted some fluid in the uterus, which may be a bit of an issue. If it is still there tomorrow, she said they may decide to freeze the eggs (or was it embryos? not sure if they will fertilise them first) and then transfer at a later date. I am so downheartened... I really just wanted the cycle done, but I know that they will do their damnedest to get us a positive outcome, so I suppose it would be better to wait than to transfer and fail.
I am going under general anaesthetic for the collection. I'm not sure if they do that as standard, but I am glad it is happening as a couple of my baseline scans where quite painful, due to my right ovary being oddly positioned, so in their words 'they are going to have to have a good rummage around to collect the eggs'
It is my father in laws funeral on Friday so I hope I am fit and well for then, I am aching at the moment, but I think it is eggs trying to get out!
Hopefully I will post tomorrow or Thursday morning wth egg numbers!0 -
Hope egg collection goes well, I'm not the egg dance expert but here goes *does a special eggy twirl*
They only freeze embryos I think, as they freeze better apparently (there was a whole Grey's episode about it once, so I'm like, an expert). I'm sorry you are having to go through all the grief and everyone else's at a time people should be taking care of you, but I think you are handling it really well. We are all here for you

danielley - apologies for the very short post, just a quick note in case you see it before you leave to say good luck today. Fingers crossed for a good haul.
I believe they would fertilise them first and freeze embryos rather than eggs. A friend had this done as she developed OHSS so couldn't have ET straight away. The doctors will know what's best to give you the best chance of success.
I can't believe how much you're having to cope with - you're doing amazingly!0 -
danielley - all the best for EC this morning, hope you get a good haul (am dancing for you
)
GA is the best... enjoy!!
Hope you're feeling ok for friday. I found the day after EC a bit sore but was ok the day after that... wouldn't have fancied a triathlon but could have managed a funeral. Hope everything goes ok and that life is kinder to you and your OH from now on xx.
AF has turned up again - seem to be on some sort on one day on, three days off schedule.
Code - lovely idea xx.0 -
Yikes. It's day 6 and I'm finding things stressful. Not sure I'm cut out for having IVF.
Phoned the clinic on day 1 (Friday) to say go ahead this cycle. I should start drugs on day 21. Was told I'd get a letter with baseline scan appt and treatment schedule, and a call from drug delivery company to arrange delivery.
Called this morning as first cycle so wasn't sure how long it would take to hear from them. My file is in the queue to have our treatment scheduled, but hasn't been done yet.Probably won't hear until start of next week.
I'm getting really stressed because:
1. If they're busy, they sometimes have to put people off for a month. I'm really nervous about treatment so just want to know if it's going ahead in a few weeks or not.We won't know until they look at our file.
2. DH and I both work full-time and can't take deliveries at work, so one of us will have to take a day off to take the drug delivery. We really need good notice of it, but if they don't even order our drugs until end of the week, it'll only be about a week and a half until I'm meant to start taking them.
I know how ludicrously minor these things sound, but I'm getting really anxious. I've barely slept the last two nights (which isn't helping) and I feel a bit panicky.
I've always been a worrier and, like I said, starting to wonder if I'm cut out for IVF.Maybe we should just keep trying naturally as we're unexplained.
