Hi all,
Tea am just had my third what I think is AF since treatment.
Have been 29,30 and this month 23 days!!!. Was 28 days before treatment.
Strangest AF ever. Medium bleeding for only 2 day and sudden stop. I bleed at least 5 days and spot on the last.
Been so upset about it that I have mucked up my system with the treatment.0 -
Plus I always cramp bad with AF and get by with painkillers o get me through work. Have had not one cramp this month0
-
GV, that's my worry too, that I've totally messed myself up! My cycles have always been irregular length but AF has always been the same (long, heavy, etc) when it does turn up.
I can't imagine that a 12hr AF is good! This is the second AF since IVF (not counting the one at the end of the treatment), the last one was ok.
Am freaking out!
Oh, and before anyone gets the wrong idea, definitely, definitely not pg0 -
Not that I have tested or going to test, definitely not pg here too. Bleed was too red etc for anything else but a very strange AF.0

I can't offer anything but a *hug* as I don't think I ever really know what's going on "in there" any more.. My AFs have been much later since my MC, its annoying. Its one of the reasons I still track OV so I know not to get excited
I wonder if these things always used to happen to us, but we weren't monitoring so didn't care...0 -
Yep same here, proper red. I often get a day of spotting before proper CD1 but this was definitely red AF from sat lunchtime to evening. Then nothing!0

Eeeeeek! Just googled and read about people having irregular periods after IVF. I never thought of this.
I've always been regular as clockwork, now I'm worried that doing IVF is going to screw it up.
Some clinics say on their websites that your periods may be irregular for a couple of months after treatment, but women who have had treatment seem to report that it lasts longer than that. :eek:0 -
I was expecting IVF to mess up cycle length (although mine were all over the place before, so not sure how I'd have noticed lol), I didn't expect it to make AF vanish altogether :eek:0

Yikes! Can you call your clinic and speak to a dr? At least so someone can reassure you that this happens sometimes, and give you an indication on how long it might last...
I do suspect the response will be one of indifference TBH. I went to my GP freaking out a few months ago when AF lasted 11 days. I've always been dead regular, with AF always 4-5 days in length. GP was utterly unconcerned and said it happens sometimes, and that was without me being on any treatment. I would imagine that, after dousing ourselves in hormones, it'll take a while for our natural cycles to fully re-establish themselves.
Still, might help if the clinic can talk to you? I know I'll be calling ours if it happens to me!0 -
I'm not sure it'd be worth it tbh. They never answer the phone and only usually reply to voicemails that are about active cycles.
Could try GP but takes 2-3 weeks to get appt so am having it will have reappeared by then!0
