I'm clocking in at obese on the BMI chart and they did weigh me (had a mega panic about it), but I went in and said "Look, I know I weigh too much but I'm working on it" and they didn't say anything else. They certainly didn't tell me just to go away. All they did was weigh both of us, measure our height, talk through our attempts at ttc, we discussed DH's SA results (sucked), and took blood from him and then referred me for an HSG and an ultrasound to check my tubes were open and my ovaries looked ok.

Woo, well done Isla! :) Hope you're resting up xx
  • Wahooo to your 8 eggs Isla! Hope you're not feeling too bad?

Tea, everything crossed that your little embryos keep doing their thing until Monday.

PM your post made me laugh! Is the cat in the dog house? I can never stay mad at the dog even when he's really naughty, just too cute.

We got a call this morning (day3) as soon as we'd gotten up to say the 2 best embryos were obvious and they wanted to put them back today so to come in straight away! Had a little cry about not making it to day5 :( then asked if I shouldn't eat as I was booked to have transfer under sedation and guess what, they had no record of it (even though I had paid).

So...turned up and decided to just go ahead without sedation as they weren't prepared and it was actually ok (nowhere close to as traumatic as last time). Staff were amazing! Was over in less than 10 mins and saved us £250 which we'll be refunded. They are going to look into the communications mix up.

Am now pupo with 2 embryos :D had 6 left which we had to decide whether to try and take to blast. Decided to risk it even though only a 15% chance of getting anything to freeze. Costs £500  but would only wonder what if otherwise so felt we had to take chance.

Gah that was an essay, manic morning so time for a nap now. Hope everyone else is doing ok. xxx
  • LA I agree with Code - HPTs are so accurate these days I wouldn't think you'd need the beta and once you tell the clinic the result they'll probably book you straight in for an early scan in 2-3 weeks so you'll see/hear the heartbeat anyway :)

Oh my word. I feel so bad.One of my facebook friends is running the London Marathon (if you're here, hi!!) to raise money to pay for private IVF with a donor egg, age being an issue in saving up for it, and I forgot to donate. Just clicked on to donate for her and she's only raised £80. Heartbreaking.

I think in sharing her post, I've inadvertently stepped out of the infertility closet.

Congratulations WW! Sounds like you had issues at your last ET? As it's not standard to have sedation for it, glad this time went much better. Again Im so surprised that some clinics require you not to eat with sedation, makes you question your own clinic when things are all so varied.

Looking good LA, I'm going to go against the General consensus and say if it makes you feel better then go for the beta (I probably would) but you will need 2 to make it worthwhile to show that the hcg is doing what it should, just one number on its own means very little.

This week has been so slow and I've had 5 headaches in the last 7 days and feel very sick with them, I'm wondering if it is some kind of come down from all the drugs, I was taking prontogest, progesterone, clexane and oestrogen patches. And AF is still AWOL! What a blooming week

WW, congrats on being pupo! I've got a feeling ours won't make it to day 5 either.

Jammy, hope the appointment goes ok.

Code, that's tough for your friend. Hope she gets on ok on Sunday. I think a lot of people might find it odd to donate to something like that. Hope they get there somehow.

I know it's a bit odd, but people would probably donate more if she needed a new leg or something. Guess we should look at it like she's £80 closer to her goal.

Happy thoughts tea. Beam happy, correct dividing thoughts to your lab embies. In a year, you might just be complaining that one of them is keeping you awake all night.
