My prev cycles off BCP were
cycle 1=25days
cycle 2=26days
Cycle 3= current (hoping 27/28!)
Now my online research :cool:has suggested that your luteal phase remains pretty constant throughout (maybe allowing for a day either side) your cycles. So your ovulation date may change, but AF will occur once your LP has finished.
I seem to be ovulating later than last cycle, so hopefully this means my cycles are lengthening and normalising.
Can anyone else recently off BCP in the past few months chip in with their observations on their own cycles?
Hope everyone has a weekend packed of fun filled baby dancing ahead of themand for those enjoying their wine and chocolate happy snuggling x
Cycle 1 = 36 days, 11 day LP
Cycle 2 = 30 days, 11 day LP
Cycle 3 = 29 days, 10 day LP (:undecided)
I'm a bit worried about my LP tbh, but having had virtually no periods for 4 years I guess I should give my body a break & give it chance to sort itself out. Also, waiting until CD19 to ov drives me crazy! I'm hoping it miraculously brings itself forward this month to stop me wishing my life away.
Is it just me, or does the thought of bc make anyone else uneasy now they're off it? When I was on Cerazette I loved it - no periods, I actually lost weight (!), no terrible side effects etc; now I'm off it and have got really clued up about what actually goes on down there, the thought of filling myself with synthetic hormones makes me feel awful!DS - 08/15

Glad to see I'm not the only one tracking stuff! Thanks musogirl and Claire. And I totally agree, I actually feel guilty of pumping my body with artificial levels of hormones, especially as it looks like you would only need to be careful on 5 days a month to avoid pregnancy! Currently my ovaries don't know which way is up now they've to produce their own hormones, and I've had some pretty sore ovulation pain lasting a week last cycle and horrible AFs. is it any wonder it takes a few months to get into a steady rhythm.
I suppose I never gave it much thought, and it's only now that I'm learning about my body - shocking at the aged of 30! However one thing that made me wonder- if the pill stops you from ovulating (ie tricks your ovary into constantly thinking it already has, so it doesn't release an egg) does that mean that we have preserved our supply of eggs for as long as we were on BC? Or am I over simplifying things?0 -
Happy weekend folks!!
Hope you're all okay and making the most of wherever you are in your cycle. So sorry to hear you sad news keepergirl x
Not much going on here, still no af, now 2 days late. Negative digital hpt this morning and still feeling really crappy. I have never suffered with PMS before and if the last 3 weeks are anything to go by - I do not want to suffer again!! Really awful few weeks which at the moment seems to be unexplained... talk about confused.com!!
Have a great weekend, sticky babydust to you all xxRemember how far you've come, not just how far you have to go.

Hey all, stayed away for a few days, the limbo of late Af but bfn's were getting to me.
Af arrived today, I'm actually relieved, I knew I wasn't pregnant after all the bfn's so was worried something was wrong, it means I had like a 36 day cycle which is unusual for me, hoping it was just a one offand this month goes back to normal!
This month we will be doing the smep..if we have the energy! Got my opks at the ready!
Can I please be updated to cd10 -
Ahh Bobley, sorry it's not your month. xxRemember how far you've come, not just how far you have to go.

Well Bobley at least AF has come and you can start again this month. I had the same the month just gone and am hoping for 'normal' again this month.
A fresh start - mine seemed ok to start and then I had a random long one.
Cycle 1 -28 days
Cycle 2 - 28 days
Cycle 3 - 29 days
Cycle 4 - 35 days
I don't share the reservations some of you have about hormonal birth control. Until this point in time a pregnancy would have been a disaster for me and I wouldn't have taken the risk of a non hormonal method. Plus I like not having periods so that's a bonus. I'll be straight back on once this is done.
Hugs for all the CD1s x0 -
Still no AF for me, normally every 28 days .
Was due on 3 weeks ago today!
And negative on pregnancy tests!

How frustrating cherrylips and ttc39
Looking forward to hearing about how you get on with smep Bobley0 -
Oh ttc39, can you get a blood test? Fingers crossed for you
Pm04gn, imo birth control is one of the modern marvels, because of it we can have careers and make our own decisions. However it is only now I've given consideration to the hormonal side of things now I'm ttc
Unfortunately I always did have a period and bad cramps even on my bC, what I liked about it was knowing what and when and the control aspect. This going with the flow is all new to me and a huge learning curve! :rotfl:
Sorry for the AFs folks, enjoy the rest and roll on ov time0
