  • Jazz - I also use cheapies from Amazon, but all I would say is whichever brand you use, unless you're having real issues then stick with the same brand if you have to buy any more. I used a different brand this month to last month, and either I'm producing more LH this month or this month's brand is more sensitive. Last month I wasn't getting a second line at all the majority of the time and never saw a true positive, this month it's been lines galore!

Hugs to all those on on CD1/2 etc :( I think I OVd last Sunday night/early Monday so am around 7DPO, and having no symptoms that can't be attributed to normal cycle/other factors. Keeping positive though! AF shouldn't arrive until Sunday(ish) so there's time for the hypothetical bean to stick yet :)

  • We are on our second month of ttc and I am on CD 25 of a 28/29 day cycle. I have been having some problems down below recently so went to see the gp today. She did various tests but doesn't think it's anything serious. However given the nature of the problem she asked me to do a pregnancy test just to rule various things out. I couldn't do it there so did it when I got home and there is a VERY faint second test line. Could this be a positive result? There is definitely a line there but it's so faint I'm not sure. I have got to make another appointment tomorrow so will take a sample with me to get tested but would appreciate anyone's thoughts in the meantime. I have done opk's in the past with similar strength lines and would say it was negative but is it different for pregnancy tests?
  • MrsSippi, I would say there is a good chance that it might be positive, I've had this twice this year when I tested a bit early with cheapy pound shop tests and both times there was a faint second line in the right place and you could only really see it if you squinted and held the stick in the right light..... next day both times it was positive ! fingers crossed.

If it's a visible line, it's almost certainly a positive :) OPKs should be as dark or darker than the control, but HPTs just have to show *something*. Test again with your first morning urine tomorrow as it will be more concentrated, and if you are pregnant the line should be getting darker. Congrats if you are!

Thanks for both the replies. It sounds like it could be a positive result then. I am just a bit worried because I have been having a creamy bloody discharge for the past couple of days (hence the visit to the GP) and she said it is coming from the womb (as opposed to the cervix etc) so I don't know if this may mean a mc. I guess I just feel a bit disheartened that it could mean something is going wrong
  • I'm certain I read somewhere about implantation bleeding so if it's still quite early perhaps it could be this just working it's way out. like Claire said test in the morning when it'll be more concentrated hormones and try to sleep tonight !
  • Hello. I'm just checking in from cd9 to say I am doing ok at not stressing about ttc so far. OH seems much more relaxed this month which is making me feel more relaxed! We have agreed to bd every other day throughout the month. OH offputtingly enough refers to it as "keeping me topped up!" I told him he is making me feel like a petrol tank! Lol!
