I'm really looking forward to taking mom to the Cathedral to see the peregrine chicks (well, they aren't really chicks any more!) that live there. They should be starting to fledge soon, so hopefully she will get to witness it!
Ahhh that sounds lovely. We live right near a local country park which has a huge lake and every year I love watching all the little chicks grow up.0 -

Ours have their very own webcams, but it's nothing like actually going and seeing them through the telescopes.0 -
Missy - I read somewhere that the only reason it says not to take while pregnant or breastfeeding is that no research has actually been done into the effects (if any) taking AC at these times would have, therefore they err on the side of caution and advise not to take it. Be warned though I read that on the internet and can't remember where so am unable to source check it, so it could be a load of old twoddle!
That just seems the general case with AC doesn't it! I think to be safe I'm going to stop after ov, but if I'm still ttc for a few months after taking it then I'll consider taking the whole time.
Thanks again, you seem to have read a lot about it!0 -
No research has really been done on much with pregnant or breastfeeding women. No company wants to take the chance that they could damage a baby, and therefore be sued for quite a bit. That's why everything says either 'don't take while pregnant or breastfeeding' or to at least speak to a doctor or chemist before doing so. Even my bottle of paracetamol has those warnings, and it's considered fairly safe during pregnancy.
My advice: do tons of research on anything you want to try or take while ttc. Also, learn how long things stay in your system (I have to take aspirin now, and it stays in your system long after any pain relief benefit has worn off, as in days!). Typically, the first 6 weeks the baby doesn't take anything from you, and isn't technically connected to your blood stream (still good to be careful though). 6-12 weeks is when the placenta is growing and it's during that time when the baby begins to siphon stuff from us and when things can get really dangerous for the little one. Then again, look how many generations humans have been through and we are still here! Science may have progressed a lot in the past 100 years (and more), but the human body and it's workings is still a miracle to behold!0 -
Sorry for my short post before. Thanks everyone who has responded to my comments and Mrs_T_M for your reply to my post yesterday, and for doing the lists!
Had another pos opk today (well, it looked the same) so will just see if my temperature goes up I guess.
wegle - according to my FAM book you should disregard any anomalies/high temperatures like that if you had alcohol the night before.
Do you ladies pay for FF membership? I only use the phone app, cos when I log in to the site it seems you can't do much without having VIP membership.0 -

Has anyone heard from x_missymoo_x in the last few days? She's at the top of the list, and I'm hoping that she has good news when she comes back! I don't want to have to move anyone down to the bottom of the list due to nasty old AF showing up.0

Morning ladies
Hope you are all well? It's been a quiet month hasn't it - let's hope we get a flush of BFP's in the next couple of days!
I'm afraid I'm going to be coming back to join you again - had another miscarriage at 8 weeks and a second scan yesterday confirmed that most of it has now left my body and just got a final bit to go.
We're both absolutely devastated but are dealing with it although we were so tearful yesterday.
So here we are, 19 months after starting our TTC journey, 2 BFP's later, 1 miscarriage of triplets in Jan'14 and a miscarriage of 1 in the last week.
Never in a million years did I think the journey would be this hard.
Wish us luck for a third attempt and wishing you all lots of sticky baby dust all round.
Gelly
