Just found your diary, I love the idea of moving towards happiness at the same time as paying off debt. That's how I feel. Little things make me happy now, like a good but cheap homemade dinner with my lovely partner, the freedom of not feeling pressurised to spend money I don't need to and checking my CC balance and seeing it go down down down not up
Total debt March 2014: £11,194. Now £4,198.

I LOVE seeing my CC balance going down, down, down!!
keeps me so motivated (and happy)
So bank is looking pretty good at the moment, obviously it's the Easter hol's now though so we have a few days out planned but shouldn't cost to much. I should save money on food shopping though as I don't have to buy lunchbox bits.
Out for a Chinese meal tonight as it's a friends birthday so we have budgeted some Money for that. Shouldn't be a late night though as we all have kids and are usually in bed by 9.30
Right off to put the clean washing on the airer and wash up.0 -
Waited on all day today for someone to come and put up a new fence and gate and they decided not to show up.
I'm really annoyed as the kids can get out the front at the moment and people can walk straight into our back garden which worries me. I will be phoning the housing association first thing tomorrow to see what they are playing at, honestly they are useless!
Pay day tomorrow so will pay £50 to the debt.0 -
Ok so rang the housing association and I have to ring back in a couple of days as they have to order fencing etc then they can let me know another date to come back and fix it. I wouldn't mind so Kuching usually but this has been going on for over a year now and I always pay our rent a month in advance (which isn't cheap!) and we keep the house to a very decent standard.
Anyway pay day today so I'm going to have a look at my bank account this evening and pay off £50, I will be able to pay more off this month but I want to pay the rent and council tax today too. I will wait for hubby to transfer over the rest of the money the. I can pay more off the debt.
Left over gammon for the kiddies dinner tonight, think I'll do some boiled potatoes and veg so a nice easy dinner!
I managed to lose 4lb in the last 2 weeks but I weighed myself today (after a naughty Easter!) and I have put 2lb back on! Must sort this out!0 -
£50 off the debt today, I need to pay the council tax in a min too then the rent, very expensive morning and I haven't left the house yet!!

Swimming lesson for ds2 tonight then I'm going to cook a chicken stir fry for dinner. I think I have a bit of a stomach bug as last night I felt sick and a bit dizzy, this morning I'm feeling a bit better but my stomach hurts from being sick overnight. Think I will have a quiet day in with the little man today.

Ok so rent paid and council tax paid for the until may pay day.
I have packed the kids snacks for swimming which I'm pleased about as we usually end up popping into the shop and spending at least £5!!
no more though! I will need to get done salad bits but I will see if I have enough to last until tomorrow as the music group ds3 and I go to is right next to the shops. 0 -
Spent £4.50 yesterday on salad bits to last us over the weekend.
Hubby has transfered the rest of the money into my account now so I need to sit down and transfer my sons dla money into his account and see what we have left for the month.
Today will be spent completing homework and then tomorrow we have to be in town early as the boys have a st George's day parade with the scouts/beavers.
I have got some prawns out of the freezer to defrost for dinner so will probably do jacket potatoes, prawns, salad and rice.0 -
Evening diary,
We went to visit my dad and stepmum and ended up staying for a roast dinner which was lovely.
then home for boys showers before bed and pack school bags for tomorrow.
Ended up being a NSD :j
I think I'm going to start setting small monthly goals to keep me motivated so Mays goals will be to lose at least 4lb, cook a new meal or bake a different pudding/cake and get the debt to under £1450.
Off to a free toddler group tomorrow morning then I need to put a cheque in hubby's business account and do the weekly shop. I need to meal plan before bed so I don't end up buying random rubbish and wasting money!!0 -
Changed my mind already, debt under £1400!0
