  • Hi Aloofdragon

I am pretty addicted to the Yankee candle tartlets, I prefer a different smell every couplr of days rather than burning a large jar and having the same smell for ages. My friend collects the large jars, she buys a new jar every week.....usually on her credit card! I'm not that addicted luckily.
  • I'm going to need petrol this week but hubby usually fills my car up out of his account. I don't include hubby's money/account into paying off the debt as he pays the majority of the bills and puts petrol in the car etc which is why I never include when I've filled up the car/paid car tax or mot etc in my diary.

He has drawn out a lump of cash for me to use for food shopping and bits and bobs as he will need to take his debit card to work for the rest of the week. Would be nice not to have to use my debit card for anything now until at least the end of the weekend. I will count the money in my purse and might challenge myself!
  • Morning diary

I've counted the money hubby gave me and I now have a total of £305 in my purse :) this will go towards ds2's school trip (£10) 2x birthday cake for ds1, washing powder and toilet roll (we bulk buy from Costco) and Halloween outfits x3. I will use it to put some petrol in the car too as I wouldn't expect hubby to use his account again when he's just handed me all that money!
Shopping being delivered tomorrow afternoon, we don't seem to be spending as much money on food now hubby and I are on diets as we aren't snacking anymore.
I have got some pork loins out the freezer for dinner tonight so just need to pick up some potatoes to make some slimming world chips to go with it and we already have beans in the cupboard.

I need to shower in a min and get ready for the day.......
  • Hi New Me, how are you? You seem to be on a mission - go you! We all seem to have found our mojo again!

I'm sure you will manage to make the money form hubby last til the weekend even with what you still need to buy.

How are you getting by without snacking? I'm trying to loose weight and its just not happening, probably largely down to my picky picky type snacking!!

Do you have a debt free date yet, or are you just going for it, and when its paid its paid?

    Talk soon!

**Feeling Hopeful that 2015 will be our Debt Free Year**
  • Hi mrsSmith

Things are good here thank you.
I'm hoping to try and make the money last until payday (23rd) fingers crossed! As for a debt free date, I'm hoping to have the debt paid off by 31st December so I can head into the new year debt free. :) that's the plan anyway!

I'm finding no longer snacking quite hard! I'm used to diving into the biscuit cupboard as soon as I feel a tad hungry. :( I'm sure I'll get there though....I've come to far to give up now.
  • Spent £1.89 on potatoes for dinner so a small spend day. Tomorrow I will be paying £10 for ds2's school trip and £4 for the boys hot dinner at school, they only have hot dinner 3 x a month when it's their favourite meals. I also need to buy a preent for a party we are going to on Saturday. Doesn't look like I'm going to hit 3 nsd's this week.

Ds3 is at preschool in the morning so will spend the morning cleaning then I will take him present shopping in the afternoon before our shopping is delivered. Also think we are going to pop to Costco tomorrow as they start an offer on toilet roll and the washing powder we use.......fab timing. :)
  • Shopping has been delivered and unpacked, I'm hoping that the majority should last next week too. The kids gave plenty of lunch box food but might need to top up on fruit and obviously bread.

I bought a new duvet set for our bed yesterday, it was £16.99 and included kingside duvet, 2x pillowcases and a bed runner. I read the reviews and everybody said it washes well and looks nice so thought I'd give it a go. Just have to wait for it to be delivered now.

Also spent £4 on the boys hot lunches today but hubby gave me £10 from his wallet to pay for ds2's school trip so that saved me using the money from my purse. Ds3 had a letter from preschool today, the kids are decorating a mug each which we can buy for £4. I will buy one with the change from my purse.

Umm not sure what else there is to report..... We are having homemade chips and omelette for dinner tonight but won't get a chance to go out and stock up on toilet roll/washing powder as hubby is working late. We will probably go Friday or Saturday.
  • Evening diary

Finally managed a NSD today :j

Changed all our bedding today and managed to get the majority of it dry on the washing line. Tomorrow I need to pop out and buy ds1 a birthday cake as we are going out for his birthday dinner tomorrow evening. I also need to drop off a present for my friends little boys birthday. Hoping to pay smoother £50 off the debt before payday.
  • Just got back from our evening out for ds1's birthday. Had a lovely meal then took the kids to the arcade next door to have a go on a few machines. We all had a really nice evening. We spent around £90 but it was all budgeted for and it was a special occasion. We very rarely eat out or get a take away now so it makes it more special when we do go out. :)

Come home and put ds3 to bed as he was shattered, showered and now led on the sofa with a coffee. Boys are upstairs (supposedly) getting ready for bed!

Bank account is looking Okish so should still be ok to pay another £50 before payday towards the debt.
