  • thats awesome news, please tell me who you have contacted to achieve this? and can you please tell me whether you have used the template from randomcurve and which email addresses etc?

    Help is much appreciated :)
  • I have to agree with LGP a couple of posts up, when reading my contract, is does state that you can cancel the contract "if such a change is to your material detriment you may terminate your Contract in accordance with Condition 4.3". In point 4.3 it states that you can cancel, giving 14 days notice, but only if "The increase in the Charges (as a percentage) is equal to or lower than the annual percentage increase in the Retail Price Index (RPI) published by the Office for National Statistics".

The way I see it, if they give you notice of putting up the contract by less than the RPI, you can't do anything about it. Seeing as they haven't actually said they are putting prices up yet, we all have to wait and see.
  • They haven't announced a price increase, but they HAVE changed t&cs to enable them to enact one/higher price increases. So it is a detrimental change whether they ever bump them that high or not, as they have given themselves an option they never had.

I am waiting for EE to raise their prices - basing this on everyone being able to receive 4G (which could not be further from the truth - I live 40+ miles away from the nearest 4G signal)

Keeping an eye on the thread is no good - you need to reject the change to your contract and request penalty free cancellation. If you don't do this then by the time people start (hopefully) winning cases with CISAS, it will be too late for you to complain.
A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A

If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.
  • I sent my email on Monday but no reply just yet :( although I do have a read receipt so know it's been delivered.

Those who have had replies, how long did they take?
  • I have just sent my first e-mail off to EE, I am expecting the "standard letter" fob off reply. I'll keep the forum updated if I make any progress.

Thank you to RandomCurve for your guidance. I wanted to cancel my contract because of the text I received, and you have saved me a lot of work.
