dri pak is trying to charge me £49 for p&p! Phoned company but was told to send question via ebay. Tried that but couldn't get it to register. Sent email but no reply yet.
Anyone else ordered and if so did they have a similar problem?0 -

I get mine from http://www.boraxshop.co.uk/ - it's "real" borax, unlike the borax substitute most of the shops are selling. Though that's supposed to be much safer...Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0

Something i found is that a while back i bought a kg or borax from an ebay seller for 10 quid, which they claimed had the "highest commercial purity grade" at 99+%. Anyone have an idea of the purity level of borax that seems to be sold on ebay for 4 quid for a kg?0

There a relationship between all of these but I wont bore you with the small stuff. I was looking for something to deal with wet or dry rot and they kept coming up with 'boron', and it would appear that Rentokil for woodworm is probably just as good on mildew and spores as anything more costly. Same perhaps for vinegar/lemon juice? Anway the alkalies. So I thought I would throw my bit in for those wanting to deal with moulds and mildews. I don't know how well it would work on something that has taken on such a life of its own that it is answering you back but I don't see why any of the former couldn't be used for cleaning damaged stuff and then using a wood hardener such as sold in B&Q. When the mould answers back or plays mushroom there might be filaments running into masonry and furniture, which you wont see so at that point a professional company might need to come in. They will use the same stuff but they might be able to identify areas of damage you haven't spotted. Don't forget mildew breaks down wood so it can eat it, so the problem can continue. Mine is just in a corner of my garage and might be from condensation or water seeping in. Watch this space.:cool:0
