I hate spelling and grammatical errors (see signature). When businesses write on facebook and twitter and make a grammatical error I will message them to point it out.
Haha I've done that plenty too
(just dug out a sat nav one to re-read and possibly quote - but way too embarrassing and I'm contemplating hiding under my desk it's so bad. They didn't even reply! And there was me hoping for a free sat nav
).
Just made myself tea/got water at work and remembered I always rinse the glass out three times before filling with water to drink, and always rinse the spoon before putting it in the 'spoon mug'. Also used the end of the milk (won't use the actual end of it, always pour down sink) and I have to put the lid on the plastic milk container before putting in bin. Couldn't throw them in separately. Always do one last rinse of my hands too (wash my hands loads - especially if touched food, anything slightly possibly 'skanky', or coins). Yuck.

It’s nice to know I’m not the only one to have quirks!!
I can’t abide bins, I feel like they are full of germs and will do anything to avoid touching them. If I do touch a bin by accident, the bit of me that touched it feels dirty and I have to wash it. Pedal bins are such a good invention!
When I’m cleaning my teeth, or standing in the kitchen, I stand on the edges of my feet. No idea why, and I only know I do it because an ex pointed it out.
I have to wash the top of drinks cans before opening them, and if I can’t, I ‘make do’ by licking my thumb and forefinger and wiping the rim where I’ll be drinking from (which I’m fully aware is entirely pointless). Then, once it’s open, I turn the ringpull 90 degrees to the right. I do that because it pokes me in the nose otherwise!
I also can’t stop reading until I get to the end of the chapter, and like the volume to be at even numbers.
When I eat chocolate, I have to break it in a straight line. DH drives me potty by breaking it in a right mess and then I have to even it up.
When eating, say, fish and chips, I eat all the chips and then all the fish.
I can’t stand the smell of ketchup or either of the big burger chain places.
I get stressed if there’s too many noisy things happening at once, and seem to be a bit deaf if there’s background noise.
The fridge must be arranged ‘correctly’.
There is a ‘right way’ to hang washing out, and it involves matching coloured pegs, and socks in pairs on the line.
I think I’ll leave that there...I’m starting to question my own sanity!:j0 -

Another here that has to put the left shoe on first.
I also like all the hangers to be hooked over the same way.
All bread and potato products have their own drawer in the freezer then frozen veg goes in the small one at the bottom. Ice lollies must only go in one of these 2 drawers and not in one that has meat products in it. I hate it when DH loads the freezer as he puts everything in willy nilly.
That said, I *could* do it differently if I had to, it just wouldn't feel right.
It bugs the hell out of me when people type 'could of' instead of 'could have'.
I hate, hate, hate the sound of other people crunching (especially peanuts) unless I am eating the same thing and then I can't hear them crunching over the sound of me crunching
My mum especially has a really annoying crunch rate (very fast.)
I've never been a thumb sucker but I had a dummy when I was little and I sometimes find myself sitting with the tip of my thumb just slightly pushing up my top lip and my first finger curled round the top of my lip. I think I must be emulating the feel of the outside bit of the dummy rather than the teat.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Not sure what happens where you live but my local council recycle milk containers but not the tops, something to do with the type of plastic.
They specifically tell us not to throw the tops in the recycle bins.
How would you cope with that? One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
Just made myself tea/got water at work and remembered I always rinse the glass out three times before filling with water to drink
I worked on the same floor as somebody that would SMELL the water before she drank it. We had paper cups and a Zipp tap that filtered the water but she would fill, smell and pour away 2 or 3 cups before smelling one she could drink. Not that was seriously weird!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

I'm so going to regret posting this and your going to laugh. I cut the tops off things.
Take for example the bread. I get a loaf of bread out, take out I dunno 3 or 4 slices out then I twist the top to keep it fresh and stand it upside down on the twist. Then I get the scissors and cut the flappy bit off cause it looks a mess.:D
The dog food, well if it doesn't have a self seal top... I get half way down the bag and cut that off as well. In my bathroom you will see cotton wool pads, cut down as ive gone down the packet.:D
I think its neatness gone wrong somewhere.:(
I tell you, no one but my husband would put up with me (and he only has to put up with me Friday to Monday).:o
To be honest, I just think ive got too much time on my hands. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Also eat left handed, and can't bear any creases on the bottom sheet. BF sleeps like he's a Tazmanian devil so often sleeps in the room next door. I smooth the sheet out and re-tuck it in every night.
Obviously cutlery has to be in the right sections and the right way up
Windscreen wipers also have to be stopped in the down position.
I stroke my hair when I yawn.
Lids have to go on. Hate it when BF bins them by mistake. Freak
Also like a heavy blanket on me. Now have duvet, throw and heavy dressing gown (which I don't wear at all, I just like over me).
Bit funny with sleeves too and rarely wear them. Get moaned at for having the heating on all the time and often hear 'go get a jumper on!' but I really don't like it.
Footwear is always put on with the left foot first.
I don't like things hanging off tables. I'll always push them so they're fully on.
Loo roll always on so you pull it from over the top, not from underneath.
I match coloured floor tiles with my feet too - if I tread on a different colour one, it has to be with both feet. That Venetian Hotel one Georgiegirl posted would send me crazy.
My hangers' hooks are all the same way round on the rail, and the clothes have to go on the right way on the hanger if they have a sticker or whatever on them.
I'll stop now. Weirdly, not many people know about mine, I hide them well
Jx
OMG, I'm reading that and your other posts and thinking 'you could be talking about me!' You're like my OCD sister lol! :rotfl:
Like you, I hide my 'OCD tendencies' (or whatever you want to call them) well, and they don't impact on my life really, but if I don't do things a certain way, it winds me up.
I'm not OCD that I have to clean from morn to night, the house is clean and tidy but not a showroom by any standards, and I don't do a lot of the other things you'd think typical of an OCD sufferer (what you see on those programmes etc), but I do have ALOT of weird quirks (or batshit craziness as someone above said lol!), luckily my husband balances me out and understands!0 -
This thread is so theraputic. Reading through I have the same as others which somehow validates my actions.
The toilet roll has to be left neatly.
Always always use my left foot first..be it putting shoes/socks on or getting dressed left foot first into underwear, trousers etc.
Hanging washing on the line is in order.D.S tops then trousers,D.D tops then skirts,my tops then trousers and finally O.H and they all have matching pegs.
Drawers and wardrobes have to be completely closed at bedtime or heaven knows what will come out of them!
Cannot leave at an "inbetween" time must be a rounded number.
Well I feel a lot better getting that off my chest.
Just remembered one of my O.H.He eats a slice of bread bottom upwards because apparently the top of the bread tastes better than the bottomLife is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0 -
I check that the oven and gas hob knobs are all off when going past. I live with someone who has OCD, so I do try to make sure this is just a habit and not something that I *need* to do.
Only at work, I put the toilet seat down using a piece of toilet paper. Don't ask me why they are being left up in the ladies' loos!
I like eating frozen peas and the occasional frozen chip. (Frozen peas are great in summer! Cold but not sweet).0
