I am selling a Hi-Fi and as always I clearly put things in the listing, specifications etc...
So what happens, someone comes along and messages me asking 'Does it have a CD Player?' !!!!!!... Read the item description and you'll see YES IT DOES!
I sometimes wonder why I bother!

Asking a question that has already been answered in the listing is enough for the person to go on my Blocker Bidders List.
By not reading the listing property, they've already shown the possibility that they could be trouble!Early retired - 18th December 2014

What drives me mad is what happens invariably when I've listed an item as collection only. I always put 'Collection only from xxxx' & there is usually at least one person who will message asking what my location is. Err, it tells you right next to my comment saying Collection only. I haven't moved since doing the listing. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
When I did ebay, I would always try to anticipate all questions, and ensure that my description answered all of them, I came to the conclusion that the majority of the public are thick as pig muck who cannot read properly so stopped using ebay as a seller.0

I posted about the same problem a few months ago....and now have the same again.
This time 2 large items on as COLLECTION BY BUYER ONLY-NO COURIERS.
Had a message yesterday asking if i can pack one of the items up 'carefully' ,measure and the best yet...get some quotes for them from my end for COURIERS....
The item is a bloody double electric bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I emailed them back and asked if they would like me to go round and put the duvet and sheets on as well...
Ebay should have a 'Report an idiot' button.0 -
So glad it's not just me!0

Haha! I sent a similar reply to someone who asked me if I could meet her 'halfway' - geographically and actually quite a long way - for a collection only item. Like, !!!!!!?! She then proceeded to tell me to chill out and to psychoanalyse me..*Look for advice, not 'advise'*
*Could/should/would HAVE please!*

I get that a fair bit - admittedly I'm fairly rural, but the amount of people who say 'can you meet halfway in Manchester?' when I'm pretty much about as close to Scotland within a few miles as you can get is breathtaking. Another chap told me 'how convenient' it would be if I could drop it off in Leeds as he'd be there for the weekend...unbelievable.
My blocked bidder list gets longer everyday...
I reckon about 95% of questions I get on Ebay are on the listing already..if people can't be bothered to read the listing, they won't be bothered to read the reply either I assume, so onto the BBL they go and the question is deleted...0 -
Don't ya love em!
I actually forgot about a buyer about 2 years ago for another collect in person item...bid on it, won it. couple of hours later emailed and asked if we would mind 'nipping round' with it as he did'nt drive and found out the cost of the taxi would'nt make is such of a bargain...this idiot lived 17 miles away...yep we will double away right now pal...
His refund had sparks coming of it...0 -

I've had several of those. Yes, of course I'm going to make a thirty mile round trip to deliver this £5 item to you!0
