So I tried on the Kathryn dress on Friday. The sample was about 3 sizes to big but exactly what I am after!! I really can't see anything else topping that although I have agreed to a day of wedding dress shopping with Mum and sister so will have a look. OH amused by my decisiveness. :rotfl:
We also bought our rings and I drove a hard bargain which I was really chuffed with. Bespoke double band for me and satin finish platinum for OH. He just couldn't get his head around the white gold wearing off issue.
Did a bit of wedmin over the weekend. Just awaiting official confirmation from the church and then I'll be happy. The minister said "it shouldn't be a problem" 8 weeks ago but we haven't heard from him since!
My sister also asked about arranging a hen do. I'd prefer not to (my friends are all over Europe so no-one city is ever convenient and they will all travel for the wedding). I tried telling her this but she seemed really disappointed and said this was her big responsibility. All the organisation is largely in hand as OH is playing a big part. Any suggestions for jobs for bridesmaids? Am a bit annoyed that this is an issue as was trying to avoid pleasing others for the sake of it...

Well hello there October Brides (and Grooms)! How are we getting on?
After several weeks of getting nowhere with confirmation from the church (and putting everything else on hold in case it fell through), we finally got the green light and it feels like things are really coming together!
OH and I did a running order of how we wanted the day to go which was really useful in terms of flagging up what we still had to organise. Priority now is sorting out music.
We were thinking a Spotify playlist of chilled out music for when guests arrive at the reception venue for a drink before food and dancing. Does anyone know if this works? Our other thought was possibly a live guitarist playing a bit of an acoustic set but thought this may end up being a bit weird....
Exciting!

Hey October Brides! How we getting on then?
We're a week on Saturday and - after a few set backs last week - we're almost there! Plan for this weekend is to pick up rings, pick up holiday currency and pack for 2 weeks in Mexico. Life is good!0
