Once you've received the £100 incentive, can you switch the Co-op account to another bank straight away or is there a minimum time the account must stay open for? I can't see anything in the T+C's about it. I read that there is a 13 month redirection but wouldn't it just redirect twice if another switch was done?
I haven't been asked about the £25 charity donation yet though.

    thanks

Once they have paid you are free to move - they can't take it back if you meet the terms of the offer. Personally I have few qualms about taking money off banks - they have taken plenty of us as taxpayers over the last 6 years! The Co-op isn't the body it used to be.

The £42 cashback offer has been extended now until at least 8 February.

I wonder if someone switched to a 2nd Co-op current account, who had already had the £100 incentive, could they just receive the £42 cashback via TC and not the £100? Or would the £40 be linked to the £100 paying out?

Sorry if mentioned before (I haven't read all the posts in such a long thread) but are there any other long-term Co-op customers like myself who are more than a little peeved that they are paying new customers to join them yet give absolutely nothing to the rest of us?

I wonder if it might backfire, as it could be the final straw for me. As others have said, the Co-op isn't what it was (we joined for its ethical stance which isn't that strong these days, despite their recent announcements) and I've been trying to persuade my wife to change to a bank that will actually pay us interest for a while now. If others do the same then they reap what they sew as far as I'm concerned!

    Yes, and no :o

I'm a long term Co-op customer of over 40 years and still maintain my 'main' current account with them. They have always done exactly what I wanted to them to do (except for some glitches several years ago with a faulty card reader/debit card).

However, I also have multiple other current accounts, most of which I've opened for the interest they pay, or for access to decent rate Regular Savers. More recently, I've also opened accounts for switching bonuses.

As long as I abide by their T&C, and the banks do what they told me they would do, I'm not in the least peeved with any of them. :)

Only tracked at £35.35 for me.

    Hi,

Quick question as I'm new to Topcashback.

I applied for the Co-op Bank switch last month to get the £46 cash back on top of the switching offer. However a week later Co-op wrote to me to ask for 3 months payslips and bank statements.

Does this mean that I won't now get the cashback because the terms say

"avoid the application being followed up offline and becoming ineligible for cashback".

my topcashback account shows £40.25 in the "pending" column even though it said £46 when I first applied. So will I likely get £46, £40.25 or nothing?

Cashback is a lottery - but you completed your application on line so you should be OK. Being asked for ID shouldn't affec this - although it seems like they are really seeking to ensure main accounts are switched. 3 months payslips and bank statements - that's more like what you would provide for a mortgage rather than you giving them money?!

PS Nationwide are offering £84 for switching to their current accounts via TCB this week.

Thanks for the heads up on this - just applied through TCB for it - possibly a couple of months earlier than I'd planned for this account but I should be able to juggle my meagre (so far) savings to meet the funding requirements but the potential cashback is just too big to miss the opportunity
  • Noticed it says something about switching "active DDs" in the T&Cs for this. I'm just about ready to go, and I've got two new direct debits set up for this, but do I need to wait until they actually take money from the account?

Both DDs are showing on Halifax's internet banking DD section, just as no payment having been taken yet. One's a paypal and one's a "normal" DD.

If they do need that... might set up some SOs seeing as people seem to be managing it that way with the letters saying that SOs are fine, and I foolishly jumped the gun on this so I've got a small time box to make the switch in!

Final thing, do you have to begin or complete the switch within 14 days...?

Another one here not received the bonus despite being at day 47 of my switch and meeting the T's & C's.

edit - Despite several phone calls, still not received the switching bonus, also no contact from the complaints department despite emailing them last week. Very poor. Have tried snail mail instead now!

I switched to the Coop last year for their £100 offer. Then switched away from them shortly after I had received the £100.

This morning, I had an email to invite me back, and an offer of £100 (plus £25 to charity) if I switch an account to them again. Would be rude not to :)
