Hi,
Just remembered I have a "spare" Halifax account which I could use to switch to Co-Op. BUT I opened this Halifax one only to receive their £100 switching bonus in September 2013.
Is it too soon to close this Halifax one - might they take back the £100? Has anyone closed a Halifax one recently and can advise if the £100 was taken back or not?
I just seem to recall something in their Ts and Cs saying that they could take back the £100 in certain circumstances.
Many thx.0 -

Q please
I have a Nationwide Flexaccount (this IS a 'current account' ?) that has £1 in it for years. No direct debits or standing orders.
I could ? use this a/c to qualify for the Coop ofer ? if...
I pay in a few pounds to the NWFA and then I set up two "regular payments" (these would ? be regarded as SOs by Coop), of £1 each, from the Nationwide Flexaccount to another of my bank accounts.
I now have a current account with 2 SOs ... yes? and qualify.
I pay in the £800 once the account is opened and get the £100/25.
No need t opay in another £800/more money ?
(How long do you need to keep the £800 in before withdrawing the £900 to my Santander/3% account ?)0 -
existing coop account holder from the £200 incentive days....17mins 43secs from start to finish and I have switched an old unused Halifax account to coop.
+£100.00
thanks a lot.0 -
"• Bank of Scotland current account customers are not eligible for this offer." (in Halifax T&C)
hmmm. Does this mean if you did the 3 BofS Vantage accounts (ARE they current accounts ??), you are not eligible for the £100 switch ? Surely this is most of us...
Have just done Coop and Halifax. Should be OK on Coop, still wonder re above/Halifax.
Just goes to show - never close an old/useless a/c. Always leave £1 in it, for switches

Check the Nationwide terms - I believe you are only eligible for 5% interest if you haven't had a FlexDirect in the past 12 months.0 -
Am I right that you apply for this account then have to call them to switch?
If so I don't have to set up any SO's yet right?
Also, how much time do I have after opening to switch if that's the case?0
